Worried your concerns may be too embarrassing or taboo? Nervous about "un-bottling" your inner concerns? In a society that values individuality, we’re often conditioned to believe we have deal with our mental health concerns alone. However, many people also avoid therapy for fear of sitting in a stuffy room with a prescriptive doctor-style therapist. That’s not me. Therapy with me isn’t stuffy or prescriptive; rather, it’s a simple conversation between two people that invites authenticity, fun, joy, sadness, cussing, laughing, and the realness of humanity. Learn more about my work at www.bravetogethertherapy. com

I also love working with clients who are struggling with self-image and identity, as well as with challenges related to anxiety, depression, trauma, and reconnecting with sensuality.
I'm passionate about empowering my clients to heal what's holding them back and step into the fullest expression of themselves. Whatever the internal or external challenge is that's getting in your way— I believe you have the power to change your future and your whole family tree by putting an end to intergenerational pain and destructive patterns. The process of personal growth (especially with support) can actually rewire your brain to shift more quickly from automatic negative thoughts to a mindset that’s more supportive of your wellbeing in every way— mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.

I believe sexuality is a very important part of life, but often we experience mental and emotional struggles associated with who we're having sex with, how often, and how we do it.
I adapt my client-centered approach to fit the needs of each unique client, often utilizing CBT, mindfulness, trauma-informed interventions, and creative and expressive techniques. For my sexuality-specific work, I utilize a CBT-based sex therapy model (CBCST) in my work with both couples and individuals to learn intimacy skills and improve relationships.

Though I see a range of client types, I find I am best suited to work with the black sheep. My clients often find it taxing, if not impossible, to function at high levels while carrying their stressors. I work with people to figure out what good looks like for them, and help them create a new, intentional, normal. My clients come to me stressed, anxious, depressed, traumatized, worried, and angry; and they are all on a path of healing and growth. I see all sexual orientations and genders in my practice.

I love helping clients make sense of their hidden stories and experiences. Often, these create chaos, make us unsure, and throw us off balance. I believe that everyone needs a comfortable place to rediscover balance and wholeness through unraveling their stories. I believe that no condition is permanent. Change happens, sometimes slowly, sometimes all at once, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. I work with couples, families, and individuals navigating ADHD, personality disorders, pornography use, sexual trauma, death anxiety, and religious trauma. If you’re grappling with big existential questions or feeling disconnected due to current events and political division, I offer a nonjudgmental space to explore those experiences.

I truly enjoy weaving movement and somatic work into my sex therapy practice.
Hello! Are you interested in rekindling the spark in your intimate relationship? Would you like to transform intimacy into an exciting experience rather than a routine task? If you find yourself feeling a bit disconnected or perhaps somewhat hesitant about the time that has passed since you and your partner connected, please know that you are not alone. It's completely normal to have uncertainties about being in a sexless relationship, and I would be happy to discuss it with you.

Are you tired of feeling like roommates instead of partners? If you’re exhausted by the 'same old' arguments and the heavy silence that follows, you aren't alone. I specialize in working with couples who feel like they’ve lost the map back to each other. My journey began with my own search for answers—I became a therapist and researcher because I refused to accept that marriage had to be this hard. After a decade of decoding human connection, I’ve helped thousands of couples move from the brink of desperation to a level of intimacy they didn't think was possible. I don't just offer 'talk'—I offer a way out of the cycle.

Sex Therapy
Who is sex therapy for?
Sex problems are common in relationships. Many people want a better sex life and want to feel loved and desired by their partner. It is difficult for couples to resolve sexual problems on their own because people often feel ashamed to talk about their sexual desires fearing they are not normal, when in fact a very broad range of preferences and behaviors are normal. A sex therapist can help clarify this and other matters.

Why do people need sex therapy?
Many people do not know how to talk about their erotic needs or their emotional needs, both of which are addressed in sex therapy. Couples often live with sexual difficulties for years before seeking help, and in that time, partners may experience so much disappointment and alienation that they may fear their problems mean they are incompatible. Once people experience disappointment, it is difficult to find resolution without help.

What happens in sex therapy?
People have many misconceptions about what takes place in sex therapy. First, it is a form of talk therapy in which partners discuss their sexual concerns; it does not involve touching or physical exploration of any kind. Sex therapy typically helps couples get comfortable talking to each other about sex so that, in the privacy of their home life, they can openly discuss their sexual desires and make decisions about what they want to do. Couples are typically assigned activities to do at home that build intimacy skills.

What kinds of problems do sex therapists treat?
Very often, partners differ in their degree of sexual desire and struggle over how often to have sex. Or they may have fights about porn use or have difficulty connecting sexually after one partner is unfaithful. Men may have problems with premature ejaculation. Women may find themselves struggling to become aroused or to achieve an orgasm. Sometimes partners feel like they have lost the sense of attraction to their partner. These are all common issues dealt with in sex therapy.
