I work with individuals that may be struggling with relational dynamics, life transitions, grief, complex trauma, depression, anxiety, or psychosis symptoms.
Does life seem grey or disconnected? Do most days feel heavy? Do relationships, day to day life, and changes feel overwhelming? Do relationships or life feel frustrating? If you resonate with these questions, then I am glad you have found this page. As a therapist, I have grappled with these questions both myself and with others. I believe that with connection, understanding, transparency, and honesty we can find harmony and acceptance in the world as it is. Together we can move forward, find a new normal, and be more congruent within our lives.

I have received extensive training in therapies for developmental trauma, dissociation, and altered realities and non-ordinary states, including psychosis.
Do you sometimes feel sad without fully understanding why? Does your mind or body long for rest but feel stuck in shutdown or overdrive? Do you feel self-critical, protective, angry, or self-sabotaging while also longing for closeness, gentleness, and care? Is it hard at times to feel connected and comfortable in your relationships? Are you seeking healing from developmental trauma, complicated grief, or relational wounds? If so, you’re not alone– these are deeply human experiences. Therapy can be a supportive place to gently sort through what feels overwhelming, at a pace that feels right for you.

Hi, I’m Abby. I help people find ways of moving through pain more effectively and wholeheartedly. Experience working with psychiatric crises and severe & persistent mental illness taught me that presence and connection are possible amid deep emotional pain and the human capacity for meaningful change is remarkable. “You know that the antidote to exhaustion is not necessarily rest? … The antidote to exhaustion is wholeheartedness.” - David Whyte

I believe that no condition is permanent. Change happens, sometimes slowly, sometimes all at once, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. I work with couples, families, and individuals navigating ADHD, personality disorders, pornography use, sexual trauma, death anxiety, and religious trauma. If you’re grappling with big existential questions or feeling disconnected due to current events and political division, I offer a nonjudgmental space to explore those experiences.

My philosophy about therapy is that when you meet a client where they are, they can achieve any goal they set their mind to. My experience across various levels of care allows me to help you navigate uncharted waters and to walk alongside you throughout the journey. In fact, it would be my honor to do so.

I love working with those who feel stuck in life, unsure of how to move forward or deepen their personal growth. My ideal clients are motivated to explore more of who they are, how they got to this point, and what core issues may be holding them back. They are ready to unpack the layers of their experiences, challenge old patterns, and create a path toward greater clarity, confidence, and fulfillment. Together, we work to build a deeper understanding of their inner world and develop tools for meaningful and lasting change.

On the surface everything is great. You went through the motions, did what you were supposed to do- maybe some mistakes on the way- but overall you created a life that should be fulfilling. Yet something is off. You can identify numerous wins and opportunities for gratitude, but it feels like an act. As a result, you shame yourself, you tell yourself you're not trying hard enough or something is broken inside of you and maybe you're not worthy of all you worked hard for. So you go into overdrive, or maybe pretend the feeling isn't there. But the feeling doesn't go away- it expands each day until you ask yourself, "Who even am I?"

Do you wish you had the confidence to live your life the way you want? Maybe you haven’t had the support or guidance you’ve needed. Many of my clients have struggled with problems like anxiety, depression, grief, or trauma. As well as difficult life circumstances, that have held them back from their goals. My mission is to help people feel stronger on their own, as well as more connected to those around them. I want you to feel calmer, happier and more empowered. With support, you can explore what’s important to you, and discover what you really want. And once you know that, you can create a more meaningful future.

Each of us shapes and is shaped by the relationships we have with others, with our bodies, with our stories, with our cultures, and with our worlds. We find ourselves here and now because of where we’ve been and what has happened, because of how we carry our experiences forward and how they have made us. I am awed by the creative resilience with which we integrate or shoulder the burdens we’ve felt. I find astonishing and courageous the ways in which we not only survive, but find ways to thrive, to express ourselves, and live into the fullness of human experience despite those things that have hurt us and that hurt us now.

Psychosis Therapists
What’s the most effective treatment for psychosis?
The most effective treatment for psychosis is coordinated specialty care. In this model, a team of professionals works with a patient to address all aspects of the underlying disorder. This approach incorporates individual or group therapy, employment and education support, family support and education, medication management (which often involves low doses of antipsychotics), and case management to facilitate problem-solving as needed.

When should people seek treatment for psychosis?
People should seek immediate treatment at the earliest indication of psychosis. Symptoms include delusions, hallucinations, disorganized or blocked speech, and agitated body movements. Early signs that a person may be developing a disorder that will lead to psychosis include suspiciousness of others, memory problems and distractibility, an inability to think clearly, rapid or nonsensical speech, withdrawal from friends or family, aggression toward others, and sensitivity to bright lights or noises.

What if psychosis is left untreated?
Without treatment, psychosis can have significant repercussions, including injuries, job loss, homelessness, financial or legal trouble, ruptured relationships, and suffering for the person and their family. While early treatment for psychosis often yields the best results, there is no point past which it becomes useless to seek treatment. At any point, treatment can make a difference.

How do I get someone else to seek treatment for psychosis?
It’s extremely difficult to watch a loved one suffer from hallucinations, delusions, and other elements of psychosis—sometimes exacerbated by their fears of treatment. Have a conversation with them in a quiet space and maintain a calm, supportive tone. Share your concerns about behaviors you’ve observed, suggest treatment, and explain the potential benefits. Listen carefully to their responses. The person may not be ready after one conversation, but with time, they may come around.
