A fervent advocate for maternal mental health, I am particularly passionate about advancing support for Black and other women of color navigating the complexities of perinatal mental health.
You’re carrying so much—taking care of everyone, handling work, managing life—but when was the last time you focused on you? It’s easy to put yourself last, but that doesn’t mean you have to stay stuck in the cycle of overwhelm. You deserve support, space to breathe, and a path forward that actually feels good. Let’s work on that together.

I also provide parenting & child therapy, as well as specialized support for women experiencing pregnancy complications (such as postpartum, loss, and infertility).
It is easy to get “stuck” in life. Stuck in our negative thought loops, stuck in our past traumas, and stuck in the pattern of living as our younger selves. The goal of therapy is to experience movement in your life as you begin to apply the skills that challenge automatic thoughts, examine the origins of your behaviors, and gain an overall better understanding of the Self. My job is to help translate and untangle the messages we received in our past that are no longer serving us today. I believe in a holistic approach that examines the connection of our mental well-being with our physical health.

I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, disordered eating, and the perinatal time period.
Each session is unique. We may explore your life story, your values, or the various parts of you. We may work strategically on a plan for how to take exquisite care of yourself. And sometimes, we may hone in on our relationship as therapist and client. What patterns are showing up that feel familiar? What else do we notice here and now?

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in EMDR, perinatal mental health, complex trauma, and mood concerns.
I blend EMDR, parts work (IFS), somatic tools, and attachment-based approaches. I often ask, 'Where do you feel that in your body?' because our bodies carry so much of what we've been through. I find joy in supporting new moms who want to deepen self-understanding, create more space for themselves, re-parent themselves with compassion, & heal from trauma.

I work with women and men who are struggling with depression, anxiety, relational issues and/or navigating the journey of parenthood- child loss, infertility, postpartum depression and anxiety.
I believe therapy is a space for transformation—a place to grow, reflect, and step into the life you want and become the person you want to be. You have a unique story, shaped by experiences and the choices you’ve made to survive. Some of those choices have supported you, while others may no longer serve you and are holding you back. The strategies and internal thought patterns we use to navigate life that are no longer serving us are not flaws- it’s all part of being human. In our work together, we’ll explore the experiences and patterns that have brought you to this point.

My areas of therapeutic focus are trauma/PTSD, attachment wounds/re-parenting, young adulthood, life transitions, adult adoptees, parenting support/coaching, attachment parenting, caregiver burnout, postpartum depression, postpartum anxiety, birth trauma, infertility, pregnancy and infant loss, and adoption.
I have 15 years experience working with individuals, parents, & families. I'm passionate about helping people wherever they are & creating a safe space for growth. Most of my work is done through an attachment lens (how we love & how we have been loved), and I find it helpful to explore ways that both big & little traumas affect our worldviews & beliefs.

Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum Therapists

What are the most effective ways to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns?

The most effective way to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns is by finding a therapist who has prior experience helping other patients overcome the challenge being faced. For example, a marriage and family therapist may have experience helping couples adjust to their new relationship dynamic. An anxiety specialist may have experience helping with phobias or illness anxiety related to the child’s health. A depression specialist may have experience treating postpartum depression.

When should I seek treatment for prenatal or postpartum concerns?

Pregnancy and the postpartum period involve intense physical and mental changes; a degree of upset and instability is normal. However, if these changes impair daily functioning, it may be time to seek help. This distinction is pertinent for postpartum depression: A period of teariness, irritability, and distress is difficult but normal in the one to two weeks after childbirth (sometimes called the “baby blues.”) But if feelings of sadness and hopelessness persist beyond that period, the person should seek treatment.

How do I manage worries during pregnancy or the postnatal period?

A therapist can help patients develop the tools they need to manage anxieties during or after pregnancy. Cognitive behavioral therapy can help people identify and reframe harmful patterns of thought, and change their behaviors. Other techniques and skills can allow people to develop acceptance, psychological flexibility, self-compassion, communication skills, and more.

Are there specific medications for postpartum depression?

In 2019, the FDA approved the first medication designed to treat postpartum depression. The medication is called brexanolone and is delivered intravenously by a medical professional over the course of a few days. However, typical antidepressants, which are more accessible, can also treat postpartum depression. The disorder is often best treated through a combination of medication and therapy.
