I specialize in working with women and parents but have experience working with individuals in all stages of life.
Has never-ending stress and decision making left you feeling stuck? Does your life not look like you expected? Does depression or anxiety keep you from enjoying your every day life? Going to a therapist when you're struggling should be as normal as going to the doctor when you have the flu. My goal is for you to leave our sessions feeling understood and supported in the journey you currently on.

Hello and welcome. It means a lot that you are taking this step. Everyone has their own walk in life. At any point along that journey, our perspective is shaped by our unique experiences. There are times when reaching out for support can make a meaningful difference. Meeting with a counselor offers a private, confidential space where your story is respected. I’m passionate about helping people build insight into their lives and feel more confident in their path forward.

I provide individualized support tailored to my clients' unique stories. I use expressive arts therapy and dance/movement therapy techniques in addition to client-centered talk therapy to engage with clients as we process in both the verbal and non-verbal realms. The body and mind are interconnected and the body can be used as a map guiding explorations of the self, as well as a metaphor to express emotions which can be difficult to convey in words alone. Through a therapeutic relationship, I provide empathic support and playful intervention.

Additionally, I provide parent coaching for parents of anxious children (SPACE), which gives practical strategies and compassionate support to help families build resilience and emotional connection.
Whether you are looking to begin therapy after a life change or traumatic experience, or are just hoping to find a space where you can fully be yourself, I am so glad you are here. Being allowed to come alongside someone as they face deep hurt and vulnerability, to challenge and celebrate them, to laugh and cry with them, is such an honor for me. My hope is our time in therapy holds space for you, a space where you can explore previously unknown and unacceptable parts of yourself, a space where change can take place.

I also provide parenting & child therapy, as well as specialized support for women experiencing pregnancy complications (such as postpartum, loss, and infertility).
It is easy to get “stuck” in life. Stuck in our negative thought loops, stuck in our past traumas, and stuck in the pattern of living as our younger selves. The goal of therapy is to experience movement in your life as you begin to apply the skills that challenge automatic thoughts, examine the origins of your behaviors, and gain an overall better understanding of the Self. My job is to help translate and untangle the messages we received in our past that are no longer serving us today. I believe in a holistic approach that examines the connection of our mental well-being with our physical health.

I believe the parent plays a significant role in a child's success
Are you worried about your child? Does your child not seem like themselves? Your child may be irritable, aggressive and defiant. Your child may seem angry or withdrawn. Adolescents often refuse to talk to you, participate in enjoyable activities, experience thoughts of suicide or do things to harm themselves. Your child may have experienced a traumatic event or is having difficulty navigating a life change such as divorce, death of a family member or adoption. You may feel hopeless and not sure how to help your child. If this sounds familiar, I can help. I have experience working with children with these same issues.

I love helping parents build on the things they already do well, as well as learn new ways to address stressful situations.
Is your child struggling with something and you're unsure of how to best help? Maybe your child is struggling to manage their big feelings in healthy ways. Maybe your preteen is struggling with perfectionism or navigating friendships. Maybe your teen is struggling with anxiety about the future. Maybe your family is facing some problems that are causing conflict. Whatever the problem, I want to help your child be the best possible versions of themselves.

Parenting Therapists
What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
