I have experience with anxiety, depression, anger, grief, marital dissastifaction, OCD, and divorce.
Many people have this hunch that something is just not right, or this notion there could be such a fuller life possible. For others, there is an acute pain or discomfort that makes life almost unbearable. In either case, counseling can be an extremely helpful place to work through discomfort, distress, or dysfunction.

My expertise lies within the subjects of OCD + anxiety, autism, ARFID, ADHD, & folks with chronic illness/physical disability.
I believe that good therapy is collaborative & not a one-size-fits-all, utilizing a combination of methods based on your goals. I always prioritize care that is neurodivergent-affirming & strengths-based. I am trained in techniques such as emotions-focused work, Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) & more.

Choosing a therapist can be a difficult decision. I recognize that sharing your life story with someone you are just meeting can feel very uncomfortable. In our sessions, I will try to bring a sense of calm confidence between you and me based on trust. Trust that I use evidence-based practices… trust that I will work just as hard as you do each session… trust that I use affirmative practices… and trust that I am ready to listen.

I work most often with those experiencing depression, OCD, anxiety, ADHD, or those looking to increase their social skills and ability to connect with others.
Whether you are looking to begin therapy after a life change or traumatic experience, or are just hoping to find a space where you can fully be yourself, I am so glad you are here. Being allowed to come alongside someone as they face deep hurt and vulnerability, to challenge and celebrate them, to laugh and cry with them, is such an honor for me. My hope is our time in therapy holds space for you, a space where you can explore previously unknown and unacceptable parts of yourself, a space where change can take place.

I primarily work with clients who are struggling with OCD, anxiety, life stressors, trauma, and relational difficulties.
I have been working in the mental health field for over 10 years and have helped many clients break the exhausting OCD cycle, reconnect with themselves and others, feel comfortable in their skin (maybe for the first time), and heal from years of trauma.

Some of the issues and topics I work with folks on include (but are not limited to): grief, religious trauma, LGBTQIA+ identities, OCD, men’s issues, sex addiction/porn addiction, isolation, relationship challenges & communication, polyamory/ENM, family estrangement, recovery from abuse, neurodivergence, patriarchy, habit formation, and identity exploration.
I believe you deserve the opportunity to meet your most authentic and confident self and to find joy in the journey of doing so. Whether that means healing from trauma, finding where you belong, or learning how to get out of your own way— we can work together to make space in your life for what matters, and that's you. I also acknowledge that each of us exists within larger systems (some of which can be inherently unjust) and that building such a life often requires you to find belongingness and support both from within and from without. I strive to make therapy a healing space but also approachable, safe, and even silly sometimes!

In addition to Anxiety and ADHD, I specialize in working with clients on OCD (esp. morality, sexual, and taboo obsessions), gender/non-binary exploration, queer-focused sex therapy, high-control church + cult trauma, and ethical non-monogamy.
Living in "unprecedented times" can make it feel like mental health has to be on the back burner, but I believe in prioritizing joy and rest to endure what feels impossible. Using evidence-based, trauma-informed practices, I work with clients to find their true selves and help strip away external stressors so they feel prepared to take on the rest of life. I enjoy helping others navigate difficult conversations and establish healthy boundaries with those around them. It is normal for the therapy process to feel a bit intimidating, but my sessions are informal and individually tailored. Neurodiverse? You'll feel right at home!

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists

How long does OCD treatment take?

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?

Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?

Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?

Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
