Are you feeling stuck in patterns that prevent you from thriving and succeeding in ways that deep down you know you can? Perhaps your relationships are suffering, or intimacy feels hard or scary. Whether it's anxiety, depression, posttraumatic stress, relationship problems, self-harm, addictions, or something else, my guess is these patterns emerged from a need to cope or survive. As a queer person, I know how hard finding an affirming and non-judgmental therapist can be, especially if you are LGBTQ+. A therapist who meets you exactly where you are right now can be the first step to building the life you want!

Hi! Fellow human here who happens to be a Somatic, psychedelic, and existential oriented therapist. I love supporting humans in navigating the human experience of life! Perhaps you've tried talk therapy and have made insights but still find yourself in the same patterns- numbing out, escaping, lashing out, etc. I offer something different. As a somatic and mindfulness based therapist, I help you tune into the nervous system, the body, and present moment as a doorway into helping you access deeper parts of yourself. In this process, I am beside you as you meet yourself and step into the growth and transformation waiting to take root.

I deeply believe that each individual is the expert on themselves. I view the therapeutic relationship as mutually participatory, vulnerable, and authentic. Connection, community, and safety are integral to the healing process, so you can expect me to be present in each session with these tenets at the forefront of my mind. My approach is relational, anti-oppressive, culturally humble, casual, sex-positive, and gender-affirming. While I have specifically worked with victim/survivors of sexual violence and complex trauma, I am excited to accompany folks on all forms of healing journeys.

You might be carrying trauma that was never fully acknowledged or tended to. Maybe you're trying to manage anxiety that just won't let up. You could be feeling lost in the pressures of parenting and daily life. You’ve been holding it together for everyone else, but inside, you’re tired. Maybe you’re questioning how you got here, or noticing the ways you’ve learned to cope just aren’t working anymore. You want to feel more like yourself again. More grounded, steady, able to breathe, able to hold space. If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone.

Hi and welcome to my practice! I know finding the right therapist can be difficult and overwhelming. I primarily work with clients who are struggling with OCD, anxiety, life stressors, trauma, and relational difficulties. Maybe you find yourself stuck in unhelpful patterns- obsessing over intrusive thoughts that are disturbing and uncomfortable, people-pleasing, emotional shutdown, perfectionism, or feeling disconnected with others. This can be exhausting, overwhelming, and frustrating. Although it may seem like there is no way out, I am confident we can work together to better understand what is going on and face it together.

On the surface everything is great. You went through the motions, did what you were supposed to do- maybe some mistakes on the way- but overall you created a life that should be fulfilling. Yet something is off. You can identify numerous wins and opportunities for gratitude, but it feels like an act. As a result, you shame yourself, you tell yourself you're not trying hard enough or something is broken inside of you and maybe you're not worthy of all you worked hard for. So you go into overdrive, or maybe pretend the feeling isn't there. But the feeling doesn't go away- it expands each day until you ask yourself, "Who even am I?"

Some populations I specialize in include veterans, first-responders, healthcare providers, business professionals, graduate students, and Jewish people of varied cultural and religious backgrounds.
Depression, anxiety, anger: sometimes our feelings can be confusing and overwhelming. Struggles at home and work increase when we're not sure how we feel or what to do with our feelings. Our relationships suffer, we don't feel happy and content, and we may wonder if there will ever be improvement. These feelings are often more intense for people who have experienced significant trauma or loss. Figuring out how to seek help and talk about these issues can be difficult. It's hard to know who to turn to, who to trust, and allow ourselves to imagine positive change. Sometimes it's hard to hope.

Throughout your life, you’ve relied on relentless effort, vigilance, and overthinking to succeed—often attributing your worry to your achievements—even though it’s been exhausting and costly to your mental well-being. You beat yourself up when you don’t check everything off your never-ending to-do list, and even when you do, it never feels good enough. You get stuck in paralysis, worried about getting it wrong and constantly holding yourself to an impossible standard of perfection. You want meaningful relationships but struggle to express your needs, leaving you feeling lonely and disappointed.

Jewish Therapists

Why is it important for a therapist to be culturally sensitive?

Therapists and clients don’t need to share the same background to be able to work together, but a therapist whose training includes a focus on cultural competence may be better able to form a therapeutic bond with individuals from a range of backgrounds, as they will have experience tailoring their approach to each client—and will be prepared to acknowledge and consider the effects of cultural forces, such as discrimination, that may contribute to that client’s concerns. With a professional who has such training, a client should feel comfortable discussing sensitive issues without feeling that they need to self-censor.

How can I recognize an effective Jewish therapist?

As with members of any religious or ethnic group, just because two people happen to be Jewish does not guarantee that they will share the same values, knowledge, or experiences. A Jewish client seeking a therapist who shares their cultural identity, or for whom it’s important that a therapist share their religious beliefs, may want to discuss a professional’s Jewish background with them before beginning therapy. For someone who seeks justification for major life changes in their religious tradition, or in biblical writings, finding a therapist who is comfortable framing guidance in that context may be especially valuable.

Would a Jewish therapist have unique training?

No, but they should have the same training and certification as any other mental health professional, as well as experience with a range of evidence-based techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy or mindfulness-based therapy. A therapist with this type of experience should be able to help any client feel comfortable and safe, which is essential for a therapeutic alliance. Once this is established, a potential client may want to find out more about the therapist’s Jewish background.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience with Jewish clients?

A client can directly ask a therapist if they have extensive experience working with Jewish clients and if so, whether these individuals sought counseling for faith-related issues or marital or familial issues in which their Jewish background was a factor. A client may also wish to ask a potential therapist whether they incorporate Jewish teachings and values into their own professional work.

Who is included in Psychology Today’s directory of Jewish therapists?

The directory of Jewish therapists includes professionals who have opted to share their cultural background on their profiles. However, not all therapists choose to disclose their background, and they may not appear in search results for this reason. The directory also shows therapists who indicate that they have extensive experience working with Jewish clients and/or communities.
