Life can be a struggle and confusing. My goal is to help my clients manage life in the healthiest way possible. I spend time in session helping clients discover how they make decisions and how their family of origin effects this decision making process. My passion is to help my clients find confidence through self awareness and relationship boundaries. I love to watch clients become independent and confident people. I strive to provide my clients with a comfortable, nonjudgmental environment which allows them the freedom to explore past, present, and future issues that impact their lives.

Everyone has a story. I am a person-centered licensed professional counselor who believes in collaborative work with the client. I provide individual and couples therapy. I primarily use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as well as emotionally focused therapy (EFT) to help my clients reach their personal goals. I also utilize existential counseling and multicultural counseling. In addition to seeing clients in-person in Knoxville, I am also available online to all adult residents of TN.

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of Tennessee. I am well versed in working with young adult females, couples, families, and parents. I am experienced in working with challenges ranging from self esteem, family of origin issues, anxiety, family, relationship conflicts, boundary setting, parenting, life stage transitioning, and communication. Therapy goals that I commonly work with include communication, increasing self esteem, effectively coping with anxiety, boundary setting, emotional expression and increasing couple/family connection for an overall better quality of life and relationships.

Making the step to begin the counseling process can be scary and overwhelming; but it can be the first step toward healing and change. I absolutely love working with individuals and couples. Walking along side clients as they journey their way through hurt, anger, grief, frustration, and other emotions, is my pleasure. Some of my previous clients came to me when things seemed to be very grim and hopeless. It has been my pleasure to watch them put in the hard work and commitment to the therapeutic process and come out as stronger individuals and couples.

Jennie Mcsweeney of Origins Therapy Services is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a graduate of the University of Tennessee School of Social Work. She has worked in a variety of settings including, outpatient therapy, inpatient treatment, and partial hospitalization programs. These settings have prepared Jennie to work with different types of people, facing unique struggles. Jennie specializes in treating mood/anxiety based disorders, body image, body dysmorphia, and eating disorders/disordered eating behaviors.
