Many struggle with life issues, however when issues arise that are very difficult to resolve, the insight of a compassionate and objective professional can be very beneficial. The issues that arise in life are as varied as the individuals experiencing them causing one to feel overwhelmed, unhappy and dissatisfied. It is my hope that you will pursue the peace and purpose in life that you deserve.

You are a multifaceted, rare, precious gem of a human, and I want to support you in shedding the conditioning that holds you back from sharing your magic with the world. The cards we are dealt are often unfair/unequal. We did not choose the bodies we were born into, the parents or caretakers we were given, the environments we grew up in, our pain or trauma, or the injustices woven into the systems we inherited. We are not responsible for what is inflicted upon us, but we are responsible for our healing. And like the water carves through rock, you too can start upon the path and life you desire.

Each individual person has unique gifts and positive personal attributes to discover within themselves. Therapy can be a place to identify personal strengths or to begin to heal from pain. In my approach to therapy, the client is always the expert on their own lives. The most important part of my job is to partner with clients to discover what might be getting in the way of personal growth or relationship satisfaction.

Whether you are navigating life’s challenges or juggling life’s blessings, if life is imbalanced, both can feel overwhelming. Achieving balance may look like mapping out future goals, setting boundaries, mending relationships or simply needing a sounding board. Imagine waking daily to a life where you get to decide. It is the most liberating and balanced of all.

My approach to counseling is very interactive and individualized. I like to provide an environment full of creativity, flexibility and humor during the counseling process. Challenging your self-perception, understanding your emotions, and changing your unhelpful behaviors requires tough work, but you won't be doing it alone. Together we will explore the patterns in your life that are keeping you stuck and find healthier ways to achieve what you need so that you can begin creating a life you love.

Going to therapy can be a tough decision to make and you might have a lot of different feelings about being here. We all have "stuff" that we are holding on to and sometimes we did not choose for that "stuff" to be there. That "stuff" comes from a variety of places throughout our lives, and may have even just arrived. Regardless of its origin, my role is to help you access the process of the healing you already have within you. I am dedicated to guiding you in exploring your potential for living a life you want to create. It would be an honor to share this space with you!

Life can be complicated, overwhelming, challenging, and messy. People don’t tend to fit in neat little boxes, but I find that beautiful. The people I comes in contact with never cease to amaze and inspire me with their stories, struggles, and victories. I am committed to creating a safe and nonjudgemental space for people to explore healing and reconnect with themselves, others, and with hope beyond ourselves. My focus is relational and I believe this is the most healing aspect of any treatment modal. “We are wounded in relationship, and we heal in relationship.”

It’s not always easy to slow down and make sense of things, especially when life moves fast and expectations—whether from work, relationships, or past experiences—pull you in different directions. Maybe you’re feeling overwhelmed, trying to balance personal ambition with those who are important in your life. Maybe you’re questioning what you want or your next move during a life transition. Or perhaps you’re in a relationship that feels out of sync, and you want to communicate better and strengthen your foundation. If you want to address these important areas, we may be a good fit.

I offer a calm, collaborative space to slow down, make sense of what’s been building up, and reconnect with what matters to you. My approach is trauma-informed and rooted in ACT, mindfulness, and existential-humanistic work—always tailored to your pace, your story, your needs. Together, we’ll explore what’s showing up and what’s ready to shift.

I believe the therapeutic relationship heals and will keep good boundaries while also genuinely caring about your well-being. I am a warm, intelligent, down-to-earth person who snorts when she laughs. I am interactive and fun, compassionate and heart-centered, as well as grounded and practical. I welcome all people from all walks of life and will allow your therapy journey to unfold organically, at your pace and with your power. I also give feedback and homework and will give you gentle nudges from time to time, if needed. Therapy is hard and fun and beautiful and painful. I hold safe space.

For me, therapy is a collaborative journey—a chance to explore, heal, and grow together. I invite my clients to dig into the areas of their lives where they feel “stuck.” Often, we find that these patterns of being stuck were formed in childhood as a way to meet our needs for safety and security. While these strategies may have been helpful at the time, they can later get in the way of deeper connections with ourselves and others. In our work together, I help my clients identify these patterns, challenge limiting beliefs, and gently guide them toward healing and transformation.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
