Life can be complicated, overwhelming, challenging, and messy. People don’t tend to fit in neat little boxes, but I find that beautiful. The people I comes in contact with never cease to amaze and inspire me with their stories, struggles, and victories. I am committed to creating a safe and nonjudgemental space for people to explore healing and reconnect with themselves, others, and with hope beyond ourselves. My focus is relational and I believe this is the most healing aspect of any treatment modal. “We are wounded in
relationship
, and we heal in
relationship
.”

Whether through individual work,
couples
therapy, or even parent coaching, I love helping others break free from cycles of anxiety, depression, shame, and fear that trauma can create.
If you have experienced complex trauma, generational trauma, secondary trauma, medical trauma, religious trauma, or narcissistic abuse, you may have struggled to gain the support that you deserve due to the fact that there are still many types of trauma that are under-recognized. I have a passion for using creativity, authentic connection, and even evidence based research on the ways that trauma and chronic stress impact the brain, to individualize therapy for your unique strengths and goals. My commitment to individualizing care also includes neurodiversity training and experience working with those on the autism spectrum.

Due to the comorbidities associated with NA, I am also a strong generalist, as most who have experienced or are experiencing NA have at least 1 other mental health comorbidity, be it anxiety, depression, stress management and coping,
relationship
issues, life transitions, grief/loss or trauma.
Update: Greetings! I'm getting my psychiatric prescriptive privileges, so if not heard back from me, this is why! Please reach back out in May and I'll (hopefully) be able to see you; however, in May and ongoing, I'll only be taking virtual clients! I've specialized in Narcissistic Abuse for over 8 years; many specialties have been byproducts. I will also only be accepting cash pay while I'm in school due to time. My rate is $100; this is significantly lower than most specialists, who do not usually take insurance and who's rate averages at least $150 and up. I did this to try to help reduce barriers for clients.

Life can be both messy and beautiful. Life also brings so many opportunities to dive deeper, to transform, and to learn how to love ourselves and others with open hearts. I believe that we all deserve a space to let our feelings be felt. We all deserve to have our experiences witnessed and held with compassion and kindness. My hope is that the therapeutic
relationship
is a healing one and that the space we create together supports growth and curiosity. My approach to this work is rooted in compassion and human-to-human connection. I believe that authentic connection supports our capacity to grow and change.

As a somatic psychotherapist, I use a combination of body-based and traditional talk therapies to help clients live more fully. My passion is working with clients who are struggling with the effects of trauma including anxiety, addictions, eating disorders, and
relationship
difficulties. Somatic Experiencing (SE) is my foundational lens while utilizing other evidenced based treatments including Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Experiential, and Adjunct to 12-Step. I view therapy as a collaborative process and see myself as a guide in helping my clients find their unique ability to address their struggles.

I find that the counseling
relationship
is the most important part of therapy.
I specialize in seeing college-aged and young adults. There is so much uncertainty right now. Feeling like you are supposed to have everything together during these times is challenging. You are grieving the loss of school or work as you know it, while trying to adjust to the new “normal.” Whatever you are feeling is completely valid. I genuinely would love to help you find some stability and normalcy while giving you tools to make everything feel a little easier and less stressful.

I have a special passion for working with folks struggling with trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and body image in individual,
relationship
, or family therapy.
I am called to this work to support folks in overcoming the hard stuff that’s getting in the way of them flourishing and being fully at home in their bodies. Creating a space that allows you to be fully seen and heard is a vital element in any authentic therapeutic
relationship
, and I’m committed to cultivating (and co-creating with you) a space that embodies these qualities. Working through trauma means not only healing our individual experiences, but also trauma that is cultural, systemic, and intergenerational.

I work with individuals,
couples
and families who are dealing with problems which hinder them from growing in their personal life and their relationships. I use a non-judgmental systems approach to understand all the factors relevant to the issues you are facing. Then, to assist you, in finding the "best" path for your healing and growth. I am glad to offer non-denominational Christian based counseling to anyone who desires to work from that spiritual background. Although, I am happy to work with people of all thoughts and belief systems.

Couples Counseling Therapists
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
