Attachment-based Therapists in Nashville, TN
Need a male therapist in Johnson City, focused on men's issues? My clients consistently tell me I'm a "normal guy" – and that's exactly the point. That approachability makes it easier to open up and face the challenges bringing you to therapy.
It's common for men to face unique struggles: relationship conflict, difficulty managing stress, or feeling overwhelmed by big emotions and behaviors. I help men navigate these challenges, develop emotional maturity, and lead lives that are more connected, purposeful, and fulfilling.
I also offer clinical supervision for pre-licensed therapist in Johnson City and surrounding areas.

I specialize in couples therapy and marriage counseling in Nashville, helping partners improve communication, navigate conflict, and rebuild trust and connection. I also work with individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, life transitions, and relationship challenges. Many of my clients are thoughtful and motivated but feel stuck in patterns they can’t seem to shift. Using evidence-based approaches, (e.g. the Gottman Method and EFT for couples work and offering EMDR for individual trauma work), we will identify patterns, develop practical tools, and create meaningful, lasting change.
Telehealth is available across Tennessee.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, confused by your emotions, or wondering why you can’t just “move on,” you’re not alone. Many people who reach out to me feel exhausted from holding it together while quietly questioning why things still feel so hard.
What I want you to know first is this: nothing is wrong with you!
I view much of emotional pain through the lens of grief and loss. Grief isn’t only about death. It can come from divorce, health challenges, caregiving, adoption, trauma, or the loss of a life you thought you would have. When these experiences aren’t recognized for what they are, we often feel misunderstood or ashamed.

The first 50 times a therapist told me to take a deep breath, I thought it was dumb and internally rolled my eyes. If that sounds familiar, we will probably get along great. I'm a real, messy, imperfect person. I curse a lot, wear workout clothes to most sessions, say the wrong thing a fair bit, and drink more caffeine than water. I'm never going to pretend I know more than you or have it all figured out. But I do have a significant amount of training, years of experience, and I care. I care a lot. I don't mess around when it comes to making your time worth your money, being culturally conscious, and showing up consistently for you

As a therapist, my approach to counseling is relational, collaborative, and hopeful. Regardless of the challenge that you are facing, I deeply believe that you already have in you everything you need to overcome it. Nothing is missing. You have what it takes. But sometimes there are obstacles standing in the way. My role as a therapist is to help remove the obstacles so that you can access the inner strength and ability that you already possess. It takes courage to say that something isn't working or that you want more or better from your life. It's my privilege as a therapist to join people as they do just that.

Growing up in rural Tennessee, I have seen and experienced many of the issues that our communities face and have focused my career on helping people work through those everyday problems. Potential clients for me may be experiencing symptoms of Anxiety, Depression, or Burnout. A history of Trauma or Substance Use may have you feeling stuck in the mud, or perhaps there are pieces of your identity such as ADHD, Autism, Spiritual, or Gender/Sexual identity that have posed their own set of challenges in feeling accepted in the world. Whatever you may be experiencing, it’s important to remember: you are worth the effort to create change.

There are times when life is painful and seemingly without answers, yet what seems most broken in us can be a channel for growth, even a source of strength we never knew was possible. My own healing through therapy and mindfulness meditation inspired the pursuit of an MA in Integral Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, the first program in the world to blend Eastern philosophical and spiritual traditions with Western schools of psychology. Today, I feel honored to support others on their journey toward healing.

Is stress, burnout, anxiety, anger, depression, or substance misuse impacting your daily life and affecting your relationships? Therapy should be a proactive process that empowers you to experience results instead of just talking about it over and over again. I specialize in helping you take back control by addressing high-performance stress & environments, burnout, and traumatic events that disrupt your life. Many of my clients lead during emergencies and never thought that they’d be looking for help themselves including military service members, veterans, first responders, medical professionals, and their family members.

My clients often seek out therapy during times of uncertainty—whether they’re navigating major life transitions, managing stress, or trying to heal from past wounds that continue to affect their present. They might be struggling with anxiety, low self-worth, relationship challenges, trauma, or the overwhelm that comes from juggling multiple responsibilities. They feel disconnected from themselves, uncertain about the future, or stuck in old patterns that no longer serve them while wanting a safe, supportive space where they can explore their inner world without judgment, be met with compassion, and feel truly understood.

I invite you to partner with me in your exploration of healing. As a psychotherapist with 20+ years of experience using Jungian psychology to help adults, adolescents, and children, I address a wide variety of issues and challenges, including relationships, depression, anxiety, trauma, malaise, spiritual trials and child development. When we sit together, we will explore your “shadow.” Your shadow is made up of parts you do not accept about yourself, and it sometimes generates overwhelming emotions when it breaks into everyday life. This work is about building a bridge to your inner world that will bring wholeness and balance.

I work with individuals navigating anxiety, low self-worth, and major life transitions. I also specialize in grief, trauma, and substance use—whether you're personally struggling or supporting someone who is.
When I mention "trauma," I don’t just mean the big, obvious events. Trauma can come from experiences like divorce, emotional neglect, chronic illness, pregnancy loss, or feeling abandoned. If something in your story still feels heavy, overwhelming, or unresolved, it matters.
All you need to begin is a willingness to show up. From there, we walk the path together.

I believe therapy is a space for transformation—a place to grow, reflect, and step into the life you want and become the person you want to be. You have a unique story, shaped by experiences and the choices you’ve made to survive. Some of those choices have supported you, while others may no longer serve you and are holding you back. The strategies and internal thought patterns we use to navigate life that are no longer serving us are not flaws- it’s all part of being human. In our work together, we’ll explore the experiences and patterns that have brought you to this point.
