Welcome! You often feel guilty for saying no, worry about disappointing others, and overthink even small interactions. You put others first so much that you lose sight of your own needs, yet still fear being seen as selfish. Conflict feels terrifying, so you avoid it—even when it hurts. You attract one-sided relationships, struggle to set boundaries, and often feel unseen or taken for granted. Deep down, you may believe your worth depends on being helpful, agreeable, or easy to love. I work with people to figure out how to develop healthier relationships, live more authentically, cultivate self compassion, and connect to themselves.

The strategies that used to work (perfectionism, performance, sheer discipline) aren't enough anymore. You feel exhausted, disconnected, maybe questioning the beliefs or identity that used to anchor you. Or you're living with the effects of complex trauma: persistent anxiety, emotional dysregulation, addictive patterns, a quiet sense that something is wrong. You've tried quick fixes and coping strategies, but you know the patterns run deeper. What you need is genuine understanding, a way to see why you're stuck and how to rewrite the story you've been living.

Often times when we feel stuck in our lives, it is because we are noticing a conflict in our internal world. Part of us feels one way, while another part feels very differently. It is my belief that we all enter this world with the capacity to feel grounded and at peace, yet as we experience the hardships of life, we lose connection with that inner safety. Instead, we begin to experience the burdens of shame, grief and/or loneliness; and parts of us take on roles that may show up as anxiety, perfectionism, sadness, self-criticism, dissociation - or many other symptoms, thoughts, or emotions that you find yourself struggling with.

The first 50 times a therapist told me to take a deep breath, I thought it was dumb and internally rolled my eyes. If that sounds familiar, we will probably get along great. I'm a real, messy, imperfect person. I curse a lot, wear workout clothes to most sessions, say the wrong thing a fair bit, and drink more caffeine than water. I'm never going to pretend I know more than you or have it all figured out. But I do have a significant amount of training, years of experience, and I care. I care a lot. I don't mess around when it comes to making your time worth your money, being culturally conscious, and showing up consistently for you

You’re used to being the one who holds everything together—caring for others, showing up at work, pushing through exhaustion—while quietly feeling overwhelmed or unseen. Somewhere along the way, you lost touch with yourself. You want relief, clarity, and permission to slow down. Reaching out now isn’t weakness; it’s the moment your journey shifts from surviving on empty to reclaiming your well-being and sense of self.

I help my clients examine patterns of thought and emotion which perpetuate unwanted behaviors and life circumstances. As we uncover the blocks that operate below conscious awareness, we open up new possibilities for living a better life. My clients walk away from sessions feeling heard, validated, understood, and empowered to take responsibility for effecting meaningful and lasting change in their lives.

Growing up in rural Tennessee, I have seen and experienced many of the issues that our communities face and have focused my career on helping people work through those everyday problems. Potential clients for me may be experiencing symptoms of Anxiety, Depression, or Burnout. A history of Trauma or Substance Use may have you feeling stuck in the mud, or perhaps there are pieces of your identity such as ADHD, Autism, Spiritual, or Gender/Sexual identity that have posed their own set of challenges in feeling accepted in the world. Whatever you may be experiencing, it’s important to remember: you are worth the effort to create change.

I use a blend of evidence-based and relational therapies tailored to your needs, including CBT, DBT, ACT, attachment-based, and the Gottman Method.
You’ve been carrying a lot—shame, self-doubt, or the aftereffects of trauma—and it can feel exhausting to keep pushing forward while your emotions feel intense or unpredictable. You may long to feel more at home in your body, more authentic in your identity, and more connected in your relationships. Therapy becomes a place where you don’t have to be brave or have it figured out—just honest. This is where your healing journey begins.

“Trauma shatters the illusion of invincibility, but in that vulnerability lies the seeds of strength.” – Jayneen Sanders
Hi, I’m Sarah. I work with individuals who are ready to process trauma, find clarity, and move toward healing. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel seen and empowered to grow at your own pace. You are the expert in your own life, and therapy should reflect that. Everyone deserves to feel hope, wholeness, and happiness.

Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, self-aware, and deeply caring—but inside, they feel anxious in relationships, overly responsible for others, or unsure how to trust their own needs. You may find yourself overthinking interactions, feeling stuck in familiar relational patterns, or carrying shame that’s hard to explain.

I help clients struggling with anxiety, depression, relationships, PTSD/trauma, motivation & life adjustments. It is not uncommon to find ourselves stuck or overwhelmed. We've often learned to neglect ourselves, our needs, and feel unable to call upon others when we need help. Many of us battle with feelings of shame and speak to ourselves in a critical voice. I believe this often comes from a place of wounding from our past that drives us further away from our true, authentic self. When we can learn how to care for ourselves in the way we needed in the past, we can shift our beliefs of ourselves and who we are in relation to others

Honest self-reflection is the answer to so many of our problems. At many points throughout our lives, we learn to ease life’s burdens by shutting down, acting out, or running away in attempts to find relief. Even our most destructive coping strategies were often the best answers we could find at the time to manage our anxieties, our desires, and our pain. When we allow ourselves the opportunity to slow down and reflect on our lives, both past and present, we deepen our understanding and insight. And, as we explore our lives without moralizing and harshness, we develop genuine compassion and greater trust in ourselves.
