ADHD Therapists in Nashville, TN
I specialize in autism, ADHD, PDA, and giftedness for adults and children.
Therapy for neurodivergent folks without a neurodivergent therapist can often be more harmful than no therapy at all. Whether you’re a neurodivergent adult navigating a world that feels like it wasn't built for you, or a parent trying your best to understand and support your child with their own struggles, I’m here to offer a space where you don’t have to mask, over-explain, apologize, or shrink yourself.

I have a heart for working with individuals from the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as those who have ADHD/ASD.
I take a psychodynamic approach to therapy. I want to help people see how their past is affecting them presently, and equip them with the tools to live a healthy life. I love to work with my clients as a team to find patterns, make meaning of thoughts, and to learn new ways of being. All these things I incorporate come from a neurodiversity affirming lens.

I specialize in ADHD, Audhd, Autism, sex, sensory, anxiety, parenting, complex family systems
Relationships get complicated when two busy uniquely minded people are building a life together. As a couples therapist specializing in neurodivergent relationships, I help partners understand the dynamics that keep them stuck, decide what they do want, and make the changes that will solidify new ways of being together.
This approach to therapy is different and often opposite of traditional psychotherapy. It's not about working harder — it's about discovering what happens when it's not working, clarifying the areas that need more understanding, and removing barriers to restore the joy that initially brought you together.

In individual therapy, I focus on people with neurodivergence including ADHD and autism, social phobia, life transitions, anxiety, depression, grief, career, and relationship issues.
I love my job embracing the honor, privilege, and joy in learning more about each person and couple. I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy as a foundation for my approach to counseling and then individualize treatment for each person. I do evidence-based therapy with acceptance that every feeling, belief, behavior, and person makes sense in their context.

I specialize in supporting clients with ADHD, anxiety, self-esteem, relationship issues, and life transitions.
Life presents many challenges and complexities, and I believe that having a compassionate, objective, and nonjudgmental guide can make a significant difference in someone's journey. I strive to help my clients feel accepted, supported, celebrated, and empowered. Through my experience as both a counselor and a client working on my own mental health, I’ve seen how powerful a strong therapeutic relationship can be—and one client even said I reminded her that “therapy can sometimes be fun!"

I enjoy helping support people with trauma, ADHD and Autism, mood disorders, life transitions, and family-of-origin issues.
I am so pumped that you're here! I know what it feels like to seek out a new therapist, and I don’t take for granted the courage and vulnerability it takes for you to share these parts of yourself. My goal is to create a pathway to help you reveal your authentic self. We do this by examining what’s been conditioned and impressed upon you while also identifying what feels true and authentic to who you are. I approach this work first and foremost with compassion, curiosity, open-mindedness, and authenticity. I believe there is room for pain and humor in therapy. I promise to keep it real with you and to share some laughs, too!

I work with artists, creatives, musicians, and professionals navigating burnout, identity questions, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. Before becoming a counselor, I spent 25 years in the music industry as a performer and entrepreneur, which gives me unique insight into the pressures, relationship dynamics, and stress often experienced in creative and high-performing fields. Many of my clients come in feeling stuck in repeating patterns in their relationships, careers, or sense of identity. Together we identify those patterns and develop practical ways to move forward.

This includes clients adjusting to late diagnosis of or suspected neurodivergence ( ADHD/Autism) or those facing life/identity transitions (life roles, career, gender, spirituality/religion, etc).
Being a human is hard, and sometimes overwhelmingly hard. Things going on within, around, or to us can challenge how we experience and engage with life and ourselves. Sometimes we need helping in sorting out our thoughts, feelings, and actions in order to find a way to live both comfortably and authentically. Sometimes we need help finding new perspectives and understandings of ourselves, others, or the world. Sometimes we are comfortable within ourselves, but are facing difficulty in interacting with others and need assistance in uncovering friction points. All experiences are valid and welcome.

Healing can only happen if you find space to allow your pain and hopes to be witnessed. So many people suffer in silence, carry burdens of intergenerational trauma or being neurodivergent in a world not built for them, and have never REALLY been given the space to use their voice. If this describes you, you belong here. Part of my goal as your therapist is to help you find your voice again (or perhaps for the first time) and have the opportunity to be truly seen and heard. I will bring full presence, respect, and compassion to our work together to support you in moving toward the life you desire and deserve.

My specialties include ADHD, Anxiety, Grief, Anger and Addiction with a special focus on supporting adolescents and adults as they navigate school, relationships, work/career and overall life change.
Wow! There are a LOT of therapists, right? Unless the criteria were super narrow, this list is likely a little overwhelming—a lot of acronyms, a lot of jargon and friendly smiles; maybe fewer cardigans than expected. It’s a lot to consider. For many of us, scrolling through lists like this can feel like running in quicksand. And if you tend to be hard on yourself, it's all the more difficult. Whether you're navigating major life shifts, struggling but still trying to pin down why, or just at a loss and unsure of where/how to start, stick with it. It's OK to take your time. There are lots of people on here who can help.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.
How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.
Are there specific medications for ADHD?
Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.
How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
