Hi, I'm Maureen and I’m so am glad you've found me here. I work with individuals who are feeling stuck- stuck in anxiety, sadness, or a constant fog that’s difficult to name. These feelings may be the result of years of overwhelming experiences or maybe you’ve gone through something recently that's increasing your distress. Whatever it is, together we can work towards healing through better understanding your needs, your world, and the parts of self that are causing this tension. I believe healing happens through finding safety in better better understanding these parts of you, and doing so in a safe, therapeutic
relationship
.

Hello everyone! Thanks for taking time to read my profile. I help disconnected
couples
, restless entrepreneurs, and individuals stifled by anxiety and depression. When I entered this profession, I realized that everyone on the planet needs a safe place to go where they can be completely themselves...and say anything they care to say. At times we need to chat with someone who's not part of our family or friend circles, someone with the training and skills to navigate confusing thoughts, emotions, relationships, careers, and matters of faith.

I am also trained in Relational Life Therapy, a
couples
' therapy created by Terry Real (author of "The New Rules of Marriage").
"The Wound is the Place Where the Light Enters You." ~ Rumi~ In one way or another, our souls have been bruised. Depression, anxiety, divorce/
relationship
issues, trauma, family crisis, & many other issues can slowly chip away at our self-worth, our sense of belonging, our hope. Do you seek a true, raw connection with yourself & others? Are you tired of fighting the "uphill battle" & seek peace in your life? I have no magic wand. I cannot make troubles disappear. I can, however, walk with you & give you the tools to find inner peace & love in the midst of chaos.

We strive to keep clients in the know and out of the dark, as we work to help clients have a trusting and transparent
relationship
with their therapist.
In today’s world, women and girls are faced with unimaginable stressors in everyday life — negative criticism from parents and friends about body image, anxiety and stress regarding world news, and difficulties relating to bullying, communication, and
relationship
difficulties on social media just to name a few. These everyday issues can trigger depression, anxiety, and trauma — not to mention exacerbate already present mental health issues such as mood disorders, eating disorders, or OCD. Our goal is to open up a conversation for women and girls to speak freely and openly about their mental heath in a space that supports women.

I help disgruntled
couples
, frustrated parents, overwhelmed teenagers, and anxious business owners. Human beings are social and require environments that make them feel valuable, understood, protected, and free to communicate all emotions. Take control of your happiness, replace anxiety with peace of mind, navigate
relationship
issues, improve your parenting toolbox, make tough decisions, and take control of the emotional rollercoaster. Your life is a journey not a destination, it helps to sit in the driver's seat.

Sexuality issues are complex, involving the body, the mind, the heart and the
relationship
between partners.
Sexual relationships find us at our most vulnerable, and it is often through sexuality that we experience some of our deepest yearnings, profound fears, compulsive behaviors, inhibitions, confusions, uncertainties, and desires. I am an AASECT certified Sex Therapist, as well as an individual and marital psychotherapist with over thirty years' experience.

I work with kids, adolescents, and adults who feel stuck; they are experiencing symptoms such as anxiety, depression,
relationship
problems, and disordered eating. Many have carried the weight of traumatic experiences for as long as they can remember. Many feel that they spend excess time worrying about food and their bodies and find it hard to engage fully in their lives. They continue to feel out of control of their relationships, their bodies, and their emotions. They feel numb and isolated on the surface, and deep down feel hurt and helpless.

Not accepting new clients at this time. Hi, I’m Hailey, and I’m honored to walk with you through your healing journey. My goal is to create a safe space where you feel both comfortable and brave while growing, sharing, and expressing yourself. I enjoy helping people identify and confront patterns that no longer work for them. I’m curious about people. I want to hear your story and I want to know how you became the person you are now. I want to help you understand your past and guide you toward becoming the very best version of yourself. Current availability is Tues/Wed/Thurs mornings/afternoons.

Healing Umbrella Psychotherapy offers a space where you can be yourself as we build a safe and trusting therapeutic
relationship
.
Are you feeling stuck in patterns that prevent you from thriving and succeeding in ways that deep down you know you can? Perhaps your relationships are suffering, or intimacy feels hard or scary. Whether it's anxiety, depression, posttraumatic stress,
relationship
problems, self-harm, addictions, or something else, my guess is these patterns emerged from a need to cope or survive. I know how hard finding an affirming and non-judgmental therapist can be, especially if you are LGBTQ+. A therapist who meets you exactly where you are right now can be the first step to building the life you want!

I believe that some of the most sustainable human growth occurs via
relationship
. This is why I believe in the power of Psychotherapy: it can be a unique opportunity for healing, a process in which -- through genuine connection and honest feedback, we can begin to make sense of the way we have come to view ourselves, our relationships, our sense of spirituality and interconnection, and the world around us. Through our work together, my clients can begin to gain the tools needed in order to change that which they can control, but also genuinely accept that which they cannot.

I place our therapeutic
relationship
at the forefront of the counseling process.
Being human can be hard. Especially when you feel isolated, different-than, stuck, or unworthy. As I've come to understand, these emotions can come from past wounds that needs our care. As your therapist, I want to help you unpack your story and reconnect with these wounded parts of you. I believe that you already have many of the answers you seek and tools you need, so therapy becomes this process of assessing your assets and connecting with wounded parts to help you love more fully and openly. I am also a Gottman-trained
couples
therapist and will happily talk to you about the potential for
couples
therapy as well.

When we take a meaningful and open look at our life, it is possible to work through the traumas of our development and find a new
relationship
to our intuition that guides us.
Therapy is about connection. I provide a holistic, client-centered, relational approach. There comes a time when help is needed from a professional to cope with life’s ups and downs and ongoing challenges. Good therapy supports integrating your life experiences. It can help you to make sense of the world again after traumatic or stressful events and gives you the skills to move forward in a healthier and happier way. Therapy is different than other relationships you may have in your life because it is completely focused on You. The ultimate purpose of psychotherapy is to help an individual find a life with purpose and meaning.

I help clients struggling with anxiety, depression,
relationship
issues, PTSD/trauma, motivation & life adjustments. Self-reflection, as opposed to self-criticism, is the solution to so many of our problems. When we are free from the usual judgments that prevent us from moving forward, we can start to examine our lives with more curiosity and can start to develop clarity into what is working and what is not. Often, wounds from our past may create limiting beliefs and get in the way of trusting ourselves and living authentically. Therapy can help us shift out of the survival patterns that keep us stuck and find a new way forward

I believe therapy should be a comfortable, non-judgmental space where you are free to bring all of your thoughts and feelings, even those parts we all have that feel awkward or uncomfortable. If you are ready to heal from past trauma, or just trying to figure out what comes next in your life, we can go at a pace that feels right for you. Often people who have been through hard things have found ways to cope and survive that may no longer feel helpful. Therapy is a place to connect with coping strategies, self-care practices, and
relationship
dynamics that feel personally fulfilling and sustainable.

There is meaning in every struggle or bump in the road we face in life. Uncovering that meaning and telling our story is often the beginning of the path to healing. Whether you are struggling with
relationship
issues, addiction, work/life balance, or just feeling overwhelmed at what life is bringing, I'd be honored to walk with you on that journey.

Couples Counseling Therapists
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
