Throughout our lives we are confronted with disappointments, challenges, and obstacles that may derail us. Unexpected life events are common and although people have an amazing capacity to resolve problems, sometimes we get stuck. When we get stuck we need collaboration or assistance to find solutions, gain control, and develop coping skills in order to return to a place where we can flourish. With this in mind, I use the vehicles of ministry, coaching , and counseling to assist individuals in reaching the abundant life that is available through Christ.

My clients can expect to understand why they do what they do and develop strategies to overcome life challenges.
As a temperament counselor, I teach people their inborn nature. What are your natural strengths and weaknesses? Once a client understands their temperament traits we can develop a working plan to get their needs met through identifying positive life choices and minimizing those choices that have lead to more destructive outcomes.

Many of my previous clients have presented with a wide range of mental health diagnoses. Others find their circumstances to be so overwhelming they have developed unhealthy coping patterns and painful emotional and/or physical symptoms. All have discovered these issues were destructive to their quality of life . I realize clients start therapy at many different emotional places...It is my passion to meet them where they are and work systematically toward the goal of being the healthiest version of themselves. My ideal client is simply ready to take a chance on that process.

I have a passion for helping clients create a life that they are excited to wake up to and not escape from.
Yes, I am taking on new clients! Grief, low self-esteem and shame are a part of addiction. Living in addiction, loving someone in addiction or grieving the loss of someone you loved to addiction is exhausting. What could have done to prevent it? What do you do now? How do you take care of yourself and begin to heal when addiction has taken everything and left you with nothing. I have a passion for helping individuals/families create strategies to overcome barriers that keep them stuck in unhealthy thought patterns and choices. I have a heart for providing a safe space to grieve and to begin to explore life on the other side.

Life Coaching Therapists

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
