I am not taking new clients at this time. Life can be rough and you don't have to go through it alone. Wouldn't it be nice just to be able to say whatever you want and someone actually listened? I am here to help, when you need it. I offer evening and weekend appointment times. I am non judgmental and accepting. You will find my waiting area soothing and very private, and my office a comforting place to spend time working on a happier, healthier you!

In my personal and professional life, I have found one thing to be true: Life can be hard. I have a passion for supporting others in resolving pain and reclaiming fullness in life. While pain is an inevitable part of the human experience, suffering is optional. I am dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families heal from relational and other traumas, problematic sexual behaviors, addictions, and intimacy disorders. I see men and
women
whose lives have spiraled out of control become desperate for help. I see brokenhearted adults and children as they learn to cope with an unstable world. My heart is to heal the broken hearted and give hope where hope was once lost.

The biggest reason many don't seek counseling is the fear of reliving the past. Forward facing trauma therapy proves you don't always have to go back to move forward. There is a different way. There is a better way. We start with the symptoms of the present. Then look at how trauma affects the brain and changes how we, think, feel, and behave here in the present. Learning how to fix and reset the brain while decreasing symptoms is our goal at Sessions of Serenity. Done at your pace, in a way that helps restore safety, creates calm and empowers the client. Your past does not have to continue robbing you of your future.

Sometimes clients can feel stuck in “survival mode”, which can keep them from fully engaging in their lives. I am passionate about empowering my clients to see they have options in their lives and ensure they are able to regain a sense of self. I believe such empowerment allows clients to create better connections with others and have compassion for themselves. It can be exhausting to feel like you have to be “fine” all the time, especially during a difficult season of life. I offer a safe space for you to come in and heal.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
