As one of a few psychotherapists in Memphis who is also AASECT Certified as a sex therapist, I treat a full range of sexual, relationship and intimacy issues. Sex is one of the deepest and most powerful experiences we have, yet it can also cause distress and embarrassment when it does not go smoothly. Compounding the problem, many have been socialized to feel uncomfortable with sex or haven't received accurate sexual health information. Many people struggle in silence with sexual dysfunction and others have erotic interests that might be considered unusual by some- any of the above can result in tremendous amounts of shame.

I enjoy working with individuals, couples and families in the areas of marriage counseling, affair recovery, sexual intimacy, sexual addiction recovery, trauma and abuse, EMDR, depression, anxiety and other mental health issues. My desire is to provide quality professional care to those that are in desperate need of experiencing hope and healing through their brokenness and pain. Seeking someone to walk with you through your darkest moments can provide the opportunity for tremendous growth and greater understanding of who you are created to be. I believe this is done well through a relational approach that will provide growth emotionally, spiritually and relationally.

April Garner is a licensed clinical social worker in both Tennessee and Pennsylvania as well as a certified sex therapist through the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT). She graduated from the University of Tennessee with a masters degree in clinical social work in 2008. She went on to pursue a masters of education and a Ph.D. in human sexuality from Widener University.

As a sex therapist, I specialize in treating sexual issues. These often include relationship challenges and sexual problems such as lack of desire/low libido, difficulty with arousal, premature ejaculation and trouble reaching orgasm. Anxiety about sexual performance, lost intimacy, sexual abuse, infidelity, menopause, illness and aging can also interfere with sexual satisfaction. Sex therapy addresses problematic or illegal sexual behaviors, sexual compulsivity, paraphilias and fetishes. Clients benefit from exploring issues surrounding sexual orientation, gender identity, asexuality, polyamory and kink. I am passionate about helping clients overcome the issues that affect their sexuality so that they more fully enjoy life.

I especially value helping women learn to cultivate sexual desire and couples to enhance their sexual experiences. I offer referrals for compulsive porn use, as this is beyond my scope of practice.

Charmai Davalos finds her purpose in helping people who are disconnected from themselves and others repair and secure their connection. She works from a family systems perspective and focuses on emotion and attachment. She enjoys helping couples, families, and other relationship duos reconnect. Her experience as a CODA (child of deaf adults), in the military, as a missionary in the jungle of Ecuador, and as a foster mother has given her a diverse capacity for meeting people where they are in the complexity of life.
