I work with individuals, couples, adolescents, and families who are navigating anxiety, trauma, depression, grief, chronic stress, and relationship challenges. Many clients come to my practice feeling overwhelmed, emotionally stuck, or disconnected from themselves and others. My role is to provide a warm, safe, and supportive space where healing can begin. Together, we identify the root of the challenges, build healthy coping skills, and create practical strategies for growth, clarity, and emotional wellness so clients can move from pain and survival toward peace, healing, and wholeness.

Today you took the first step in seeking help and that is a brave thing. I am honored to be one of the people you are thinking about. Healing happens when we look at all of ourselves; our whole selves and our whole family system whether born to it or finding it along the way. Healing can happen at any age and it’s never too early or too late to work on the array of trauma and experiences that have gotten us to the point we are at. Through learning about how our brain works best, learning better coping skills or communication skills and regulating our nervous system we can find some peace.

I offer in-person and virtual therapy sessions.
You may feel overwhelmed in your relationships—like you’re trying to communicate, set boundaries, or feel secure, but keep running into the same patterns. Maybe anxiety shows up, your emotions feel up and down, or you don’t always feel fully seen or understood. I often work with young adults and adults who are navigating life transitions, relationships, and identity—while starting to realize how past experiences may still be shaping how they show up today.

I use solution-focused techniques to support concrete, measurable change by building on each person’s strengths and abilities. I emphasize action and often engage clients with homework assignments. I also encourage developing positive support systems, clear routines, and intentional decision-making. My approach is holistic—I often remind clients that to change their lives, they must be willing to change their habits.

Being a teenager and a young-adult in a post-pandemic world is hard. Add in anxiety, up and down moods, problems with focus and prioritizing, or relationship conflicts and it can feel overwhelming, impossible, and like things will never get better. Not only do we have typical day-to-day concerns like figuring out who we are and what we want to be, but we may be struggling with perfectionism, communicating, taking things personally, making friends, or getting along better with our parents. The loneliness of feeling misunderstood and not knowing what to do is crippling.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
