If you’ve been hesitant to seek counseling due to not wanting to seem “crazy”, I am here to tell you that everyone can benefit from talking to a licensed mental health professional. You can most definitely pray (if you are a person of faith) and talk to a therapist at the same time! We all have some sort of baggage, but it’s totally up to you how you choose to address it. There’s no shame in seeking help, and it’s my personal mission to destigmatize receiving professional mental health treatment.

I work with adults and couples, those struggling with predictable lifespan challenges (including chronic illness and death) and those that encounter tragic and unanticipated events.
Authentic interaction, compassion, and curiosity are central to my work as a relational and experiential therapist. I believe that human development, personality, and mental health are primarily shaped by where we come from: interpersonal relationships (namely our earliest attachments) and the culture and social values that shape our lives. Building more secure connections with others is required to break repetitive cycles in life and to heal from trauma. Therapy can be that secure base.
I prioritize a whole-person approach: thoughts, emotions, body awareness, breath, nervous system, choices. We are all of this.

Whether through absence, loss, or emotional distance—leaving a longing for connection, understanding, and a deeper sense of being cared for.
You may be a high-achieving woman navigating a demanding world—capable, responsible, and strong for everyone around you. Yet beneath the surface, you feel stuck. You may find yourself asking, Why do I keep repeating patterns that leave me exhausted or unfulfilled? Why do I give so much to others and still feel disconnected? Many women and young adults learn early to survive by performing, over-functioning, or prioritizing others’ needs. Over time, this can create patterns of people-pleasing, emotional burnout, or a quiet sense of emptiness. For some, this feeling is connected to early experiences with a mother figure—

I have seen tremendous growth in clients struggling in the areas of grief, depression, anxiety, and borderline disorders.
Growth doesn't always look like what we expect it to. Growth at times can be concealed in challenge, difficulty, adversity, grief and calamity. My specialty is to help others recognize their current perspective and how a shift in perspective is the beginning of transformation.

I work with teens, adults, and older adults who want to feel more grounded, understand their patterns, and regain a greater sense of control.

How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
