I support families in the midst of a divorce.
Parents who need peace of mind for their struggling teen boy. Explosions and silence. Sometimes they seem fine and often they aren't. You're concerned he won't connect with a therapist, let alone make progress. You need a neutral third party adult for him to talk to that isn't his parent. You see the way he's responding to things now and are worried about what might happen for him when he's 25, or older! You're not sure if it's a teen thing or something is wrong. You know he needs support, but you're not sure where to go.

I love getting to know my clients as a starting point for therapy so we can incorporate their interests into treatment. Everyone has unique needs, wants, and goals, and I embrace each person as they are to help them move toward those goals. I work with individuals experiencing trauma, addiction, depression, anxiety, and personality disorders, supporting them in building a more positive future while accepting their past. I also encourage clients to explore their challenges from new perspectives to gain deeper understanding and create meaningful change.

Healthy relationships are not the mystery that most of us believe them to be. Love may be the reason that we commit to a relationship, but few know how to sustain that wonderful, secure feeling. There are skills that all of us must learn in order to create and manage our relationships so that our dreams don't go the way of statistics and have us end up separated from our loved one. While individual therapy has been linked to worsening relationship issues, my research-based training provides the opposite: HOPE. Let me work with you to stop the negative patterns that are taking you away from the partnership you wish to have.

In my Women’s Wellness sessions, as a non‑clinical Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Health and Wellness Coach, I provide hands‑on support to women ages 40 and over who are experiencing the emotional and relational challenges associated with perimenopause, menopause, and post‑menopause. While I do not administer medical treatment, I work directly with women to educate them on coping with mood fluctuations, identity shifts, body image concerns, weight‑related emotional imbalance, communication difficulties, and the stress that often accompanies hormonal transitions. My approach integrates evidence‑based health and wellness

I hope to come alongside you to support, encourage, and advocate for you by standing in the gap and be a constant in your storm.

My mission is to help you dig deep and unearth the roots of your struggles, so we can rewire those patterns that no longer serve you. I am informed by schema, attachment, and narrative therapies. I blend these approaches to help you rewrite your story and ditch the habits and behaviors holding you back. I believe in the power of storytelling—your story told your way, is the key to unlocking those lightbulb moments. Whether you're dealing with deep-seated attachment wounds or entrenched schemas that keep you stuck, we'll work together to dismantle those barriers and build a toolkit of new skills and strategies.

I use my training as a Clinical Psychologist along with humor, compassion and experiential knowledge. I work with adults who want to make life changes. Frequently, I work with people in crisis, addressing acute depression, panic or grief. We can't change the past but we can change self defeating patterns or relationships in the present. I also work with people who have suffered abuse to live as survivors, not victims.

We often come to a crossroads in our lives, a time when staying where we are is no longer sustainable, yet we are not clear on how to do something different, or how to start down a new path. Many of us learned early on to only show aspects of ourselves that were “acceptable;” we learned which traits earned us love and cultivated those, but relinquished many others. Healing is a journey back to ourselves, a journey back our essence and back to who we were before we learned we were not enough.

Many experiences in life can motivate us to look for support―a difficult current or past relationship, overwhelming stress, unprocessed trauma, or maybe just a sense of being stuck. You aren't alone. My hope is that you find in me a nonjudgmental, caring presence to listen and help you process whatever pain or disconnection you might be experiencing. My aim is to guide you toward the wholeness you seek.

People pleasing and perfectionist tendencies leaves us drained, resentful, and disconnected from who we are at the core. You may be fed up with the pressures and expectations of doing “all of the things”, feeling stretched too thin or wish you had the inner strength to make yourself a priority. You might not even remember a time things didn’t feel this way. But one thing is for sure: you’re ready for some relief. You’re ready to commit to the change. You’re ready to kick self doubt to the curb. Most of all, you’re ready to embark on a journey towards peace and purpose.

Divorce Therapists
How does therapy for people affected by a divorce work?
Individuals may feel a number of emotions following a divorce, such as shock, guilt, grief, anger, and fear. Therapists offer a non-judgmental space for individuals to talk about what they’ve experienced and process their emotions. Therapists will help clients develop coping strategies. They can also help a client rebuild their sense of self and self-worth and talk about what a happier future might look like.

What’s the most common type of therapy following a divorce?
There are several types of therapy that may be useful for divorce, including cognitive behavioral, acceptance and commitment, solution-focused brief, and mindfulness-based therapies. Many therapy types are talk-therapy based, which is typically the most popular option for individuals dealing with divorce. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a widely-used talk therapy, however, there’s no specific therapy type that’s designed to help people with divorce, and different types will work depending on the person.

When should an individual seek help due to a divorce?
When the feelings of a divorced individual, or an individual going through the process of divorce, begin to disrupt healthy daily functioning, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not performing at work due to problems with anxiety or motivation, if they’re no longer seeing friends due to feelings of shame, or if they’re not properly taking care of themselves as a result of depression, speaking to a professional could help.

How do you encourage someone to go to therapy due to a divorce?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the individual while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Sharing how the individual appears to be suffering, and what effects it has on them or on their children, should be done with compassion and empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
