The clients I work with often face challenges navigating life’s complexities for various reasons. Some may be experiencing grief due to the loss of a loved one, a major life transition, or unmet expectations. Others struggle to process traumatic experiences, finding it difficult to access their emotions and turning to numbing behaviors instead. Many feel overwhelmed by the pressure to meet both external and internal standards. Whatever the obstacle, we approach it together with compassion, non-judgment, and a focus on finding clarity and healing.

You’re the first in your family to succeed—graduate, start a business, buy a home, or create a life that looks “perfect” to others—but inside, anxiety and self-doubt linger. You’ve learned hyper-independence, code switching, and emotional suppression just to get here. Overachieving became survival, not choice. Now the pressure to hold it all together feels exhausting. You deserve support to set boundaries, care for yourself, and finally enjoy the success you’ve worked so hard to build. My top populations are professionals, women, perfectionist and high achievers. I use Internal Family Systems (IFS), evidence-based therapy.

I specialize in working with people dealing with mood disorders, anxiety and relational issues that make everyday life a struggle. I tailor therapy to each individual since each person's needs are unique to their own experience.
Some questions I may ask are, "What does that mean about you as a person?" or "Do you remember the first time you felt that way?"

We all embark on the journey of life at the same starting point. We travel down the road before us, trying to carve out a path that will lead us to the kind of life that will bring us joy. However, there are times when that path leads us off the course of happiness and fulfillment, and into the unexpected. I enjoy working with individuals with traits and tendencies of attachment that manifests by way of questioning self-worth, feeling unworthy of love, fear that healthy relationships cannot exist, obsession with loss and difficulty moving forward, taking on others feelings and beliefs as your own, guilt/shame.

How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.
What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.
Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.
How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
