Our thoughts and feelings affect every part of our lives. They can often be guided by our trauma, anxiety, depression, or life stressors. My goal as a therapist is to work with clients to process and learn ways to live more fully. I lean heavily on focusing on the client’s internal strengths to learn effective strategies. I am guided by cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution focused techniques. My experience has given me the opportunity to work with all ages struggling with anxiety, depression,
grief
, and phase of life issues. It is my goal to provide the client with a safe space free of judgement.

As you work with me, you will have the chance to: process your
grief
, strengthen your marriage, overcome destructive negative thoughts, build confidence as a parent, spark positive momentum toward your future self, & break free from unproductive patterns.
Welcome! I'm sure the thought of therapy is scary, and maybe you're thinking to yourself, "I never thought I would be here." I'm here to assure you that you don't have to face what you're facing alone. Guess what? Therapy is a completely normal and healthy thing to seek out. Millions of people do it every day. If you had an accident and physical surgery was required, you wouldn't think twice about it. Of course! Therapy is mental surgery. Many times, we try to put a bandaid on top of things that require some extra work. I would be thrilled to assist and walk beside you as you put in this extra work.

I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, stress,
grief
, trauma, and issues related to life transitions.
Do you feel disconnected from your life? Are you tired of knowing what you “should” be doing to reach your potential, but you just can’t seem to follow through? Sometimes we get stuck and find ourselves having a hard time breaking free of set-backs, disappointments, or traumatic events. This can lead to a spiral that starts to affect our work, our relationships, and how we feel about ourselves. If you are feeling anxious, depressed, or just stretched in too many directions at once, it's time to do something--it's time to reclaim your life. Therapy is a safe place we can work together to do just that.

Are you feeling so overwhelmed and frustrated that you just don't know how to move forward? Are you frustrated that life just doesn’t seem to be moving in the direction you’d like it to go at the moment? Maybe overwhelmed with negative thoughts, patterns, and past experiences? Life happens all over our plans sometimes and that can definitely hinder our progress and impact our daily quality of life. It can be hard to determine how to move forward, where to start, and develop a concrete plan to get there without getting stressed beyond a level that we can manage.

I enjoy working with individuals who are at a crossroads in life. Whose goal is to move through life’s challenges. My ideal clients are those who are dealing with anxiety, adverse childhood experiences, codependency, communication, depression, life transitions, relationship stress, self-defeating beliefs, stress & traumatic experiences. Who are currently desiring support, balance & peace, but certain blocks have gotten in the way of finding enjoyment in life. Overtime, these blocks have disrupted your state of balance. Calming the nervous system is the foundation for this process. Choosing to invest in yourself is where you begin.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
