I work most effectively with couples struggling with emotional disconnection or day to day distress in their most important relationships. Whether you've been married for decades or just a handful of years, I help couples get to the heart of the matter quickly. Together, we will get past those frustrating impasses and "nothing fights" to reshape the dance of distress that you and your spouse are caught in. You'll learn instead to have new conversations with each other in order to gain and maintain a secure, dependable bond.

You’re the one everyone relies on—at work, in relationships, and in your family. You take care of others, think about their feelings, and try not to disappoint anyone. But inside, you feel overwhelmed, emotionally tired, and unsure of what you even need anymore. You may feel guilty for wanting more rest, space, or support. You overthink decisions, second-guess yourself, and feel pressure to “get it right.” You’re exhausted from holding everything together and want relief that actually lasts—not just another way to cope.

The brain is absolutely fascinating and I believe that the more one learns about the brain and the way it functions, the more optimal life can be. Understanding how you think and function is an important guide to helping clients. You are so much more than your struggles with addiction, relationships, coping skills, or medical diagnoses. I am here to listen and work collaboratively with you to make the steps to improve your life and well-being. I have experience with a variety of populations and make it a priority to operate in a culturally sensitive and aware approach.

At times, it can be hard to find providers with experience in the areas where you’ve been struggling. Folks with eating disorders or disordered eating, perinatal and postpartum challenges, and trauma and PTSD can feel very alone and misunderstood as they try to find a community who has experience treating these issues. While I have experience in all of those areas, I also enjoy treating clients dealing with general self-esteem and self-worth issues, anxiety, depression and relationship issues. I believe in helping clients heal by rebuilding trust within themselves and with others as part of the therapeutic process.

My therapeutic approach is rooted in Person-Centered therapy in which the relationship between client and clinician is a priority and is based in mutual trust and respect, empathy and congruence. I use integrative techniques in every session to meet the unique needs of each client, such as CBT, trauma-informed therapy and mindfulness-based therapy. I believe that individuals are experts on themselves and because of this I take a collaborative approach in working with clients, utilizing what is known as Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT) to get client input in evaluating progress and clients’ needs.

It has been shown time and again the relationship between client and counselor is the most important part of a therapy experience. It is always on my mind to ensure that our relationship remains entirely focused on you, but as a part of the collaborative duo that will become client and therapist I’m happy to share a bit about myself. Relationally, I have been described as down-to-earth, authentic and sincere and I enjoy laughing and celebrating with clients in the therapy space as well. With humility and curiosity I am eager to hear about your life experiences. Licensed in Tennessee, Maryland & Virginia.
