Family conflict, marital problems, trauma, communication issues, anxiety, depression and other common problems that arise simply from being human are in my wheelhouse to work with. Managing the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors we have as we navigate through the obstacles of life are critical.

Brene Brown wrote that "Loving ourselves through the process of owning our story is the bravest thing we'll ever do". I aim to create a safe place and a trusting relationship that will help you bravely share your story. Once we find the courage to share our truths, the courage to heal and change can come shortly after. Nothing that we experience is wasted story.

Life can be tiring and exhausting. Sometimes it can feel like we're underwater and there's no light at the end of this tunnel. When we're having strong thoughts we can't seem to shake, it's truly just peace we're looking for and I hope to help you find that.

When you walk into my office, my hope is to meet you wherever you are in your path, and you feel some of the pressure fall off. It is my joy and passion to help women navigate the college and various adult seasons of life. These stages are full of transitions that can be exciting and stressful. You might be experiencing changes in relationships with family and friends, learning how to process and share emotions, discovering identity and belonging, discerning gifting and career paths, or feeling stuck from hurts in the past. But you do not have to walk this journey alone!

Healing is a journey, not an event, and it starts by forging a new path, doing things differently. I believe we are a collection of our experiences. We learn to change our actions or suppress our feelings to fit the expectations of others. Sometimes, the culmination of these experiences can leave us feeling unbalanced, not ourselves. In these seasons of uncertainty, we yearn for change but aren’t sure how to make that happen.

People are inherently resilient but often feel blocked and discouraged from healing. Discerning how we can be our best selves requires the support of another person who will listen and support us on the journey to discovering our authentic selves. As a result of my own journey, I have learned the keys to healing-willingness, rigorous honesty with self and others, grace, compassion, and unconditional positive regard-are fundamental in the desired transformation. Regardless of the issues, your story matters and there is hope for healing.

You’ve built a life that looks successful from the outside—but internally, it may feel exhausting trying to hold everything together. In your relationships, you may notice growing tension, emotional disconnection, or recurring conflicts that never seem fully resolved. Even when love and commitment are present, sustaining closeness can feel difficult. I work with high-achieving individuals and couples who want to better understand the underlying patterns driving anxiety, stress, and relationship challenges so they can experience greater clarity, stronger connection, and emotional balance.

“Don’t believe everything you think.” This simple phrase captures the heart of my work as a therapist. Life is full of change, uncertainty, and challenges that can leave many people feeling stuck in cycles of worry, anxiety, or overwhelm. For those living with a disability or chronic illness, these challenges can feel even more intense. My goal is to help clients rediscover their strengths, build resilience, and develop practical tools to cope with everyday life—without losing sight of who they are.

Many of the people that I meet in my practice are feeling "stuck" in some area of life - they can't seem to get traction in making change happen. Addictions, co-dependence, anxiety, depression, anger, poor self-image, lack of assertiveness, lack of closeness in relationships, and struggles with getting past major life traumas are many of the issues we focus on in sessions.

How do substance and drug recovery or rehabilitation programs work?
In inpatient programs, individuals live in a facility with other clients in recovery; in outpatient programs, individuals reside at home. These facilities are staffed with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, psychologists, counselors, and psychotherapists. Staff often also includes people who have recovered themselves, serving as mentors and guides. These programs may use abstinence, harm reduction, detoxification, psychotherapy, and other methods.

How do 12-step programs combined with psychotherapy work?
Members of 12-step programs help each other reach abstinence and work to maintain it. These programs promote complete change in the individual’s emotional, mental, physical, and even spiritual perspectives. Some programs require that new members attend 90 meetings in 90 days. Many people do attend these programs in conjunction with their work in psychotherapy; the combination of therapy along with 12-step can be extremely effective.

How does harm reduction combined with psychotherapy work?
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, harm reduction prevents death, injury, disease, overdose, and substance misuse. People who choose harm reduction for substance use reduce the amount of drugs they consume. It is not abstinence-based like a 12-step program, but combining harm reduction with psychotherapy proves to be effective for many people.

Are there specific medications for substance and drug use?
There are medications approved to treat substance use disorder—such as buprenorphine, methadone, naltrexone, and acamprosate. These medications do help people cope with substance use as well as avoid the problem of relapse. Naltrexone can help reduce cravings, methadone is an opioid medication used to treat severe pain, and acamprosate may help ease symptoms like poor sleep and anxious feelings.
