I approach clients as uniquely beautiful and gifted and work to assist clients in overcoming barriers that prevent them from embracing their innate strengths. I affirm all gender identities, religions, disabilities, ethnicities, and cultures and encourage clients to find healing within each aspect of their person. Life can be exhilarating and shattering, pleasant and painful, beautiful and horrific. All emotions tell us something about ourselves and our circumstances. All emotions are good and should be handled with care, because they are the forces that lead us to ourselves.

You might be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, weighed down by depression, navigating the impact of past trauma, or struggling with addiction or a major life transition. Maybe you’re also carrying the complexities of cultural or inter-generational expectations and trying to make sense of how they shape who you are today. You want relief, understanding, and tools that actually help you feel more grounded and in control of your life. You’re juggling a lot—and you’re tired of spinning your wheels without seeing real progress.

Do you feel disconnected from yourself, family and friends; the world? Has your story become lost in the loudness of “getting it done”? Is it hard for you to make sense of it all? If this is you, I may be able to help. My goal is to walk with you as you reconnect to your world. We can do this by teaching you skills to restore your voice and build authentic relationships. I am passionate about social issues and approach counseling from a place of authentic, honest connection. I believe there are many threats in society, meant to traumatize and fracture us. My goal is to help you overcome adversity and achieve wholeness.

The fact that you are seeking to connect with a therapist is a sign that you want to begin the journey of self discovery, healing, and transformation. My clients are couples or families who deeply want to feel more connected—but something just isn’t working. They’re stuck in cycles of misunderstanding, distance, and tension. Arguments repeat with no resolution. Emotional needs are going unmet, and they’re unsure how to fix it. I know that life can be complicated, and it does not come with a manual. My goal is to work with clients to face and navigate their life so that they can gain perspective and grow. My love is working with clients so they can move through this world in such a way that they can be strong mentally and in healthy families and relationships

Healing is a journey, not an event, and it starts by forging a new path, doing things differently. I believe we are a collection of our experiences. We learn to change our actions or suppress our feelings to fit the expectations of others. Sometimes, the culmination of these experiences can leave us feeling unbalanced, not ourselves. In these seasons of uncertainty, we yearn for change but aren’t sure how to make that happen.

The clients I work with often face challenges navigating life’s complexities for various reasons. Some may be experiencing grief due to the loss of a loved one, a major life transition, or unmet expectations. Others struggle to process traumatic experiences, finding it difficult to access their emotions and turning to numbing behaviors instead. Many feel overwhelmed by the pressure to meet both external and internal standards. Whatever the obstacle, we approach it together with compassion, non-judgment, and a focus on finding clarity and healing.

You’re the first in your family to succeed—graduate, start a business, buy a home, or create a life that looks “perfect” to others—but inside, anxiety and self-doubt linger. You’ve learned hyper-independence, code switching, and emotional suppression just to get here. Overachieving became survival, not choice. Now the pressure to hold it all together feels exhausting. You deserve support to set boundaries, care for yourself, and finally enjoy the success you’ve worked so hard to build.

My hope is to create a relationship between the therapist and the individual that fosters positive and lasting change. To that end, I work patiently to ensure a sense of trust and safety. In addition, I feel I work well with individuals who go to therapy to be challenged, to be "unstuck." In these cases, I can be supportive while also being firm and direct. My approach is sensitive to the individual's life circumstance, their personality, and their comfort level with the therapeutic process.

Divorce Therapists
How does therapy for people affected by a divorce work?
Individuals may feel a number of emotions following a divorce, such as shock, guilt, grief, anger, and fear. Therapists offer a non-judgmental space for individuals to talk about what they’ve experienced and process their emotions. Therapists will help clients develop coping strategies. They can also help a client rebuild their sense of self and self-worth and talk about what a happier future might look like.

What’s the most common type of therapy following a divorce?
There are several types of therapy that may be useful for divorce, including cognitive behavioral, acceptance and commitment, solution-focused brief, and mindfulness-based therapies. Many therapy types are talk-therapy based, which is typically the most popular option for individuals dealing with divorce. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a widely-used talk therapy, however, there’s no specific therapy type that’s designed to help people with divorce, and different types will work depending on the person.

When should an individual seek help due to a divorce?
When the feelings of a divorced individual, or an individual going through the process of divorce, begin to disrupt healthy daily functioning, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not performing at work due to problems with anxiety or motivation, if they’re no longer seeing friends due to feelings of shame, or if they’re not properly taking care of themselves as a result of depression, speaking to a professional could help.

How do you encourage someone to go to therapy due to a divorce?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the individual while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Sharing how the individual appears to be suffering, and what effects it has on them or on their children, should be done with compassion and empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
