There are several things in my life which drive me to be a counselor. My own past with it struggles, acceptances, failures, and successes drive me to do what I do. I am able to sit in dark places, empathize with struggle and loneliness, and challenge ways of thinking and behaving from a non-judgmental place. I love the unique position a counselor has to problem solve through the failures, walk the uphill road to recovery, and celebrate the success and growth that comes out of the journey.

I offer in person sessions in TN. I offer teletherapy for my clients in the states of TN, AZ, MO and FL. Is depression, anxiety, or anger holding you back from where you want to be in life? Please don't give up, because help is available. Many people feel a need to make changes, but don't know how. None of their options seem to work out. The pressure can lead to other problems, like trouble getting to sleep, difficulty making decisions, poor self-esteem, substance abuse, physical pain, or troubled relationships.

You used to be able to keep it all together, but lately that has become more difficult. Maybe you overcame quite a lot to get to where you are, so it's even more frustrating that the things that used to help aren’t working as well. On the inside, you feel restless and exhausted, but you can't figure out how to rest or relax. If you ever get a little down time, your mind races and fixates on every worst-case scenario. Sometimes, it feels like your body shuts down completely. All of this is incredibly frustrating, and you have resigned to the fact you may need help. You want things to feel easier, and your effort to count.

It takes a lot of courage to seek support, and you're taking the first step. Maybe you are adjusting to a life transition, managing anxiousness, or dealing with trauma or loss. You want to see something change, to heal, or to find purpose or meaning... My hope is to help you with that.

We all experience relationship conflict, overwhelming/traumatic events, and internal struggles. My approach is focused on helping clients to better understand themselves and how their history has impacted their present. Along this journey, I empower clients to use given tools and resources to move forward into the vision that they want for their future. I approach experiences and beliefs from a trauma lens, utilizing EMDR to reduce distress, regulate nervous system functioning, update neural pathways, and bridge the gap between the brain and body.

We all have a story and a journey filled with highs and lows. Our paths often lead us to challenge ourselves in ways we never imagined. One thought can turn into ruminating doubt, negative self-talk, or trigger past trauma. It is during those times when we deserve a safe space to unpack before continuing on our life's calling. Accept our invitation to heal in the convenience of your own home. We created a virtual healing space for women to grow and heal courageously. Do not allow emotional and subconscious barriers to interfere with living a fulfilling life.

Women's Issues Therapists
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.

How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
