I offer both face to face and telehealth availability.
My primary work today is with those individuals struggling to achieve the best version of themselves. A variety of factors are at play here from past trauma, difficulty connecting, tragic life events, self sabotaging or self destructive coping skills, among others that get in our own way. I offer a place for the individual to explore past patterns and create a new narrative for a new future.

There are several things in my life which drive me to be a counselor. My own past with it struggles, acceptances, failures, and successes drive me to do what I do. I am able to sit in dark places, empathize with struggle and loneliness, and challenge ways of thinking and behaving from a non-judgmental place. I love the unique position a counselor has to problem solve through the failures, walk the uphill road to recovery, and celebrate the success and growth that comes out of the journey.

I offer in-person therapy in Chattanooga (near Brainerd Rd) or virtual sessions from the comfort of your home to all Tennessee residents.
You've read the books, searched the forums, and sat through the unsolicited advice from your mother-in-law and three strangers on TikTok. You're trying so hard. You love your kid, your family, yourself, but some days, that love doesn't make the hard moments any easier.
Maybe your child's big emotions have taken over your whole household, and you're exhausted from holding it together. Maybe you're pregnant and drowning in contradictory information, wondering what's actually true and what's just noise. Maybe you're a mom navigating postpartum life, and you thought you'd feel more like yourself by now.

I have daytime and evening openings and am available to see clients either in-person or via Telehealth.
Wow! There are a LOT of therapists, right? Unless the criteria were super narrow, this list is likely a little overwhelming—a lot of acronyms, a lot of jargon and friendly smiles; maybe fewer cardigans than expected. It’s a lot to consider. For many of us, scrolling through lists like this can feel like running in quicksand. And if you tend to be hard on yourself, it's all the more difficult. Whether you're navigating major life shifts, struggling but still trying to pin down why, or just at a loss and unsure of where/how to start, stick with it. It's OK to take your time. There are lots of people on here who can help.

It can be incredibly difficult to navigate life after such profound changes. Are you struggling to adjust to life after a major medical diagnosis — like a traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, or cardiovascular surgery, etc ? Have you experienced complex trauma or a traumatic event?
Do you feel overwhelmed with anxiety, stress, or depression as you try to make sense of what’s happened and find your “new normal”?
Or maybe you’re having a hard time communicating your needs and feelings in your relationship, and it’s causing tension or disconnection.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.
When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.
How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
