Healing is often uncomfortable. No one likes feeling exposed or overwhelmed, but together, we can pull those heavy emotions out from under that 'everything is fine' umbrella and look at them for what they really are. I’m Sierra, and I believe therapy isn't just about managing symptoms; it’s about a collaborative partnership to help you grow, heal, and finally feel like yourself again. My approach is non-judgmental, direct, and deeply compassionate. Whether you’re navigating the weight of depression, the constant hum of anxiety, or the complexities of grief and trauma, I meet you exactly where you are.

Walking with people through some of their most difficult times is an honor and a responsibility that I do not take lightly. I have worked with children, adolescents, families, and adults in my career as a social worker. I am passionate about working with individuals who desire to do their own personal growth work, and families wishing to develop healthier boundaries and communication patterns that honor authenticity, connection, and compassion.

In my personal and professional life, I have found one thing to be true: Life can be hard. I have a passion for supporting others in resolving pain and reclaiming fullness in life. While pain is an inevitable part of the human experience, suffering is optional. I am dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families heal from relational and other traumas, problematic sexual behaviors, addictions, and intimacy disorders. I see men and women whose lives have spiraled out of control become desperate for help. I see brokenhearted adults and children as they learn to cope with an unstable world. My heart is to heal the broken hearted and give hope where hope was once lost.

On most days, do you feel like you're just going through the motions? Maybe you’ve reached a point where you feel emotionally numb, disconnected from yourself and those closest to you. You want more, but if you’re honest, you aren’t fully sure what more is… you just know that THIS isn’t it. You desire deeper connection, but at the same time you’re afraid of it. You might be wondering: what will happen if I allow them to see the real me? Will they judge me? Reject me? Accept me? Though these are some of your deepest fears, you’d never dare say them out loud. If this sounds like you, I see you, and I’m glad you’re here.

In my work, I draw from evidence-based approaches such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy ( DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients build resilience, deepen self-understanding, and move toward lasting change.
In my practice, I provide a safe, compassionate, and inclusive space where you can work toward creating a more fulfilling life. My goal is to help you unlearn harmful beliefs, reshape coping strategies that no longer serve you, and cultivate greater self-acceptance. I’m passionate about supporting individuals who are navigating grief, healing from traumatic experiences, managing anxiety, OCD, body image concerns, and eating disorders. I often work with clients needing support in setting boundaries and those that feel self-aware but find it difficult to make meaningful changes.

Something brought you here. Maybe you’ve been carrying something for a long time. Maybe you’re exhausted and not sure what to call it. Maybe you just know something needs to change. I work with people at all of those entry points. My approach is built around what you actually need. There’s no cookie cutter path to healing. For some people that means building coping skills, mindfulness practices, and tools for managing symptoms. For others it means going deeper — understanding the patterns, history, and parts of yourself that shaped how you experience the world. Often it’s both, and it shifts over time.

Sometimes we come to a time in our life when we can use some guidance. I love working with people to help them along their way. We can explore what works for you and what doesn't. Together we can figure out where you want to go from here and how to get there. I've helped many adults and youth with personal growth as they navigated through life stressors and transitions.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
