I have several years of experience working with a variety of mental health issues, including addiction, severe and persistent mental health disorders, family systems, domestic violence situations, trauma, along with others.
There are several things in my life which drive me to be a counselor. My own past with it struggles, acceptances, failures, and successes drive me to do what I do. I am able to sit in dark places, empathize with struggle and loneliness, and challenge ways of thinking and behaving from a non-judgmental place. I love the unique position a counselor has to problem solve through the failures, walk the uphill road to recovery, and celebrate the success and growth that comes out of the journey.

I offer professional counseling services to males aged 10-60+ who deal with anger issues, healthy relationships, effective communication, assertiveness, self-confidence, career counseling, substance dependency, grief and trauma, depression and behavioral issues from a distinctly male perspective and viewpoint.
It's not very often that males are encouraged to seek help when dealing with the challenges of life. As a result, we resort to age-old adages that tell us to ignore the pain, 'man up', and soldier through it. But the fact of the matter is that we feel, we suffer, and we hurt and it has nothing to do with being a man and everything to do with being a human being. Men want healthy relationships, we want to be happy, we want to feel in control of our lives and be fulfilled. Taking the step towards mental health is an integral part of this process.

Are you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure how to move forward? Maybe anxiety, trauma, or life stress is making it hard to feel like yourself. You might not even be sure what your goals are yet and that is okay. I work with older teens and adults who want clarity, healing, and practical tools to move through life with more confidence, even when barriers feel heavy or hard to name.

My main specialities include working with survivors of abuse, individuals and families dealing with addictions, relationship difficulties, adult children of dysfunctional families, depression, and anxiety.
Success in counseling is often a matter of having a good connection with your therapist. Most of the clients I see are nervous starting therapy. This is a very common experience. I recommend you start with an intake session to see if this might be the right fit for you.

I'm a psychologist and Tennessee native who treats adolescents and adults for a wide range of concerns, focusing on depression, anxiety, bad habits, relational difficulties, and many more. You may have a sense that something is wrong with your life but have trouble articulating exactly what it is or resist giving it a medical label; when something's off, you probably experience it holistically in multiple facets of your life. That's normal, and that's what I intend to help you with. You may need help with a concrete problem, or you may need help with existential themes. I see them as interrelated and will assist with both.

Welcome home to yourself. I offer a grounded, compassionate space for you to feel deeply seen, heard, and understood - not just a set of symptoms, but as a whole, evolving being. Rooted in the belief that healing happens when when you are met with presence and care, my work honors both your inner landscape and the larger spiritual, relational, and ecological systems you are a part of. I support individuals navigating liminal spaces - especially those who find themselves in-between versions of who they've been and who they're becoming. My ideal clients are those who are seeking depth, integration, and genuine connection.

No matter how much effort you put forth in your significant relationships, the message you want them to receive, seems lost in the confusion of misunderstandings. You want to love and be loved, but you continue to feel alone & sometimes even devalued. How can you connect in healthy ways and maintain your own personal values and goals? As your mind continues to repeat memories of failed attempts to fix what has gone wrong, you don't know where to turn for real help. Everyone seems to have an answer, but no one sees the whole picture. There are times when an objective listener is the best option.

I believe therapy should be more than a place to process struggles. It should be a space where you feel seen, understood, and empowered to create change. I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families, specializing in ADHD, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, and a wide range of other challenges. But therapy isn’t just about diagnoses or fixing what's "wrong" with you. It’s about helping you understand yourself, break free from unhelpful patterns, and create a life that feels more aligned with who you are and who you want to become.

Life gets weird sometimes, and you don’t have to figure it out on your own. Therapy can be a place to slow down, talk honestly about what’s going on, and start making sense of it all - at your own pace. Together, we’ll look at what’s been on your heart and mind, what’s helping (even a little), and what might need to change. I help clients work through things like anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship challenges, and major life transitions in a way that feels manageable and real.

I believe that one of the greatest power and influence in our lives are our relationships with others. It is from relationships that all of our trauma, negativity, and heartache originate; however, it is only through relationships that we can also find true healing for prior wounds that continue to determine present actions and emotions. The difference in these two kinds of relationships is honesty, vulnerability, and reciprocity: a mutual connection that cultivates intimacy and acceptance by removing shame and anxiety. It is only through these authentic relationships that we can truly feel complete and secure in our own skin.

Addiction Therapists
What is the best therapy for addiction?
Addiction treatment will be tailored to the individual. People seeking help for addiction—whether with a psychotherapist, in an outpatient clinic, or in a residential program—should expect to engage in multiple types of treatments, sometimes including medication. For anyone recovering from addiction, avoiding situations in which one has typically used a substance is essential, as is the support of close connections. Since substance use disorders tend to co-occur with underlying mental health conditions such as anxiety or depression, those must also be addressed as part of any recovery plan.

How long does therapy for addiction take?
There is no set timeline for recovery from addiction. Patients and their families should expect the work to last several months, if not longer. Residential treatment programs may be based on a stay of 30, 60, or 90 days, with continuing work after release, but only about 1 percent of people are treated in such facilities. Ceasing use is just the first step; therapy to help maintain abstinence and effect behavior change must follow. The process of recovery, neuroscience has shown, involves brain cells recovering the capacity to respond to natural sources of reward and restore control over the impulse to use. Another definition of recovery is restoring voluntary control over one’s substance use and retaking all of one’s previous responsibilities.

How effective is drug addiction treatment?
Substance use disorders are treatable and remission is achievable for many who seek recovery; by some estimates, more than three-quarters of people who become addicted to alcohol or drugs recover. But that success rarely occurs quickly or on a set timeline; relapse is not only common, but many therapists and clinicians view it as a normal part of the process—not always a sign that a person has returned to addiction, but a signal that their treatment should be adjusted to help them regain control. Overall, research suggests, five years after the end of substance use, one’s risk of relapse is no greater than that of others who had not faced addiction. Other experts believe that complete abstinence is not the only measure of recovery, and that, through effective treatment, many people can learn to control their use.

How can you get addiction treatment for someone?
The most important factor in recovery from addiction is widely understood to be an individual’s commitment to change. For that reason,“interventions” in which friends and family gather to urge or force someone to begin immediate treatment often backfire; even when such efforts do lead someone to begin treatment, they may be less likely to stay than those who are self-driven. Still, family members can play an important role in supporting an individual who seeks help and can take part in family therapy as one element of a loved one’s treatment.
