You wear, what feels like, all of the hats and fear that taking any one of them off admits defeat and means you're failing.
Stop. Struggling. Alone. We can make lasting changes in our lives through understanding and self-discovery. My goal is to support you on your journey towards less worry and stress. Let's work together to quiet that negative voice in your head and replace it with your true voice that is kind and supportive.

I primarily see men and women who are dealing with problems relating to anxiety and/or depression, which can be overwhelming and debilitating.
Depression, stress and anxiety do not occur in a vacuum. They occur within a larger context of genetics, relationships, and unexpected life events and our interpretations of these events. If we interpret events accurately, or at least neutrally, our resulting moods and feeling will be accurate, producing appropriate and life-enhancing behavior.

As a mental health therapist in Nashville, TN, I work alongside adults navigating grief & loss, anxiety, trauma, life transition, and the deeper existential questions—who am I, what do I value, how do I want to live, and how am I impacted by patterns I cannot yet see?
My approach draws from Jungian Psychology, Internal Family Systems (Parts Work), Somatic Experiencing, the Hakomi Method, and Existential/Humanistic frameworks. This work is relational & led by you. I hold a systems lens, recognizing that the patterns we carry are shaped by culture, caretakers & Collective experience as much as personal history.

You may be here because anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, or relationship patterns have left your inner life feeling chaotic, numb, or difficult to understand.
I help people work with trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, attachment wounds, and spiritual or existential concerns. Rather than offering one-size-fits-all therapy, I try to clearly explain what we are doing and why, so the work feels collaborative, transparent, and respectful of your lived experience.

I work with clients who are wanting to learn/improve in coping with depression, anxiety, life transitions, self-esteem issues, and coping with new medical diagnoses (i.e. chronic illnesses).
Sometimes in life, we find ourselves struggling to find balance. Maybe you feel like you’ve poured so much into your job, your friends, your family, or your relationships, that you’ve lost sight of YOU. Maybe life is “life-ing” a little too hard right now and you need an outlet to process it all. It’s easy to feel lost for any of these reasons. Something I say often is that our lives are like a book series. As main characters, we are often faced with challenges that are difficult to face alone. Main characters need help to reach the end of the chapter and the book too! How else can we move on to the next story?

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
