I've listened to people's stories and learned that healing begins when someone truly hears you without judgment. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I promise your story won't be rushed or dismissed—I'll listen to understand what's happening and what it means to you. Using evidence-based therapies, we'll explore what brought you here, identify what's keeping you stuck, and create practical tools that fit your life. I bring an educator's heart to every session to help you build skills and confidence that last. Together, we'll author your next chapters with clarity and hope. Your story matters and so does your healing.

Together we will find the right path, and right set of practical tools, to help you overcome obstacles and become your best self. After nearly 25 years working in mental health, I am skilled in the latest, evidence-based therapies available (e.g., Relational Mindfulness and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy). But no single approach works for all people at all times and, remaining flexible, we will create a safe therapeutic environment with the best combination of techniques that works for you. So many different psychotherapies exist today because there is no one approach that works at all times.

As a former service member, I understand the unique challenges that come with military and first responder life—the long shifts, the high stakes, the unspoken weight you carry. my mission is to support those who serve. I also see clients that have been through trauma and are having difficulty moving forward due to the symptoms; anxiety, depression, sleep issues, intrusive thoughts of the event/s.

Somewhere along the way, you learned who you needed to be to be loved. Maybe that meant hiding your needs, dulling your sensitivity, or putting yourself last. You may still feel the echoes of those messages in your relationships, in your body, and in the way you talk to yourself when no one else is around. Maybe you feel tired of performing, questioning your worth, and feeling somehow both too much and not enough.

Addiction, loss, trauma, conflict…the story does not have to end there. It can move to recovery, acceptance, healing, and connection. Whether the troubles are in our relationships or inside us as individuals, I see counseling as a powerful process for mental and relational health. I have experienced first-hand the healing power of counseling in my own recovery from addiction. I want the same for my clients. I help my clients grow in self-awareness, self-acceptance, and self-love…how they view themselves in relation to their world and story

Online therapy is available to all of California without leaving your house! Don't miss out getting the help you need. We all want and need connection, but many of us struggle to find connection due to insecurities, negative experiences, anxiety, depression, and so on. Or maybe we've cut ourselves off from relationships altogether, vowing never to be hurt again. Unfortunately, even though we may feel safer, isolation often leaves us feeling terribly alone and dead inside. What can be done?

FAQ - About Therapy for Seniors
Is one ever too old for mental health therapy?
Individuals of all ages can benefit from mental health therapy. Indeed, older adults in particular may benefit from the social and psychological support a therapist can provide; the topics that older adults address in therapy may simply differ from those of younger clients. Seniors should seek out a therapist who has experience working with older individuals and who is well-versed in addressing common concerns among elderly individuals, such as depression, anxiety, loneliness, and physical mobility challenges.

How is counseling for seniors and the elderly different from counseling for other age groups?
In general, counseling offers an opportunity for clients to process difficult life events and develop coping skills they can use outside of the therapy session. Therapists who specialize in working with elderly clients generally have the same framework but may place a special emphasis on specific topics, such as caregiver relationships and reducing loneliness. They may be specially equipped to deal with certain physical conditions or facilitate discussion surrounding end-of-life topics. Counseling for the elderly may also place a greater emphasis on social work-type topics to ensure that geriatric clients have access to necessary resources, such as food, a safe home environment, and healthcare.

How can therapy improve the quality of life of aging individuals?
Therapy for aging adults can greatly improve quality of life by providing an opportunity for them to process difficult emotions related to end-of-life, navigate relational or caregiver challenges, and develop coping skills for common mental health conditions, like anxiety or depression. Subsequent reductions in negative emotions and mental health disorder symptoms can make day-to-day living much more manageable for aging adults and those that care for them. The ongoing relationship with a trusted therapist can also help seniors combat loneliness and provide a sense of structure for their routine.

What are the qualities to look for in therapists who see seniors?
Seniors counselors, like mental health counselors in general, should be kind, empathetic, skilled at listening, and knowledgeable about their particular area of expertise. Counselors specializing in working with the senior population should be very familiar with the aging process in general and the common conditions that the elderly can face, such as dementia, depression, loneliness, and/or physical illness. Many senior counselors are also well-equipped to help caregivers and families navigate the aging process of their loved ones, and they may draw on Interpersonal Therapy to help facilitate improved interactions between seniors and those that care for them.
