I work with individuals who are on a healing journey toward self-compassion and living more fully as their authentic selves. Maybe you are experiencing overwhelming anxiety, discomfort in social situations, difficulty expressing needs within relationships, negative effects of religious trauma , or living as a neurodivergent adult in a neurotypical world. Your feelings are valid regardless of what you’ve been told or what your experiences have led you to believe. You deserve to see yourself differently and be present in your life.

I use trauma -informed approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Mindfulness Based techniques to support healing from trauma , with a focus on integrating body and mind.
As humans, we need to feel seen, understood, and valued for our experience. In a chaotic, changing world, it can be difficult to form the type of supportive networks that allow individuals to feel valued or empowered. Through my practice, I hope to support individuals and couples who are seeking to heal from past hardships, build helpful coping strategies, and discover emotional wellbeing in a safe and supportive environment. Together, we can identify and build upon your strengths in order to process and integrate your past, present, and future, discovering a life worth living.

I am a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist and a trauma -informed EMDR therapist. I work with clients who are struggling with sexually compulsive and addictive behaviors including compulsive porn use, infidelity, sexual aversions, and other problematic behaviors. I do not discriminate against any person who comes seeking help with sexual problems. Rather, I offer a non-judgmental, empirically-based approach to help work through and resolve behaviors. If you have any questions about whether or not a compulsion or addiction is present, I would be happy to assess those behaviors and provide recommendations.

I am experienced in the treatment of trauma , anxiety, ADHD, and depression.
I'm only taking telehealth clients at this time. I help clients honor their past, find their voice, and create their future. It's important that my clients feel valued and respected. My commitment to you is simple: to hold an open non-judgmental space where you may reflect, learn, and grow while feeling supported, safe, and gently challenged. Eventually our discoveries will become a part of your inner voice. You'll be able to notice patterns, challenge your thoughts, and consistently live according to your ideal values. You will become your own advocate. Our work will be together, but your success will be yours.

If you're a guy—and especially a gay guy—dealing with addiction, trauma , identity issues, grief from fractured relationships, confusion around sex and intimacy, or anxiety and existential confusion about your faith & sexuality (phew!), I want to help you.
You can’t do this anymore. You’re stronger than most have ever had to be, but inside you swing between anger and helpless shame, if you let yourself feel anything at all. You keep doing that same thing over and over again—maybe drinking, drugs, sex, rage, self-harm—and you hate it...but on the other hand, hasn't it been more reliable than anything or anyone else? You ask into that inner darkness "why am I like this?" "what if they find out?" and "can I keep this up?" but all you get in reply is a desperation to leave it all behind, quickly countered by a familiar fear: maybe this is the best I deserve or am ever going to get.

While I am trained as a generalist and enjoy working with a wide range of presenting concerns, I have expertise in areas related to complex trauma , relationship difficulties, family issues, impulse-control, suicidality, self-injurious behavior, and identity concerns.
Accepting New Clients! To have someone open their heart in therapy and trust me with it, is truly an honor. Therapy can be hard. Often times people share things with me they haven’t shared with anyone else. Because of this, I believe the relationship between client and therapist is the most important factor in therapy and what I focus on building first with you. Moreover, I take an integrative approach to therapy, conceptualizing from psychodynamic and interpersonal theories while utilizing interventions from EFT, DBT, CBT and interpersonal theories. All of my work is grounded in multicultural and strength-based views.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
