I work with various types of anxiety, OCD, trauma, multicultural advocacy & integration, couples counseling, conflict & anger management, life transitions, & self-esteem/body image.
Oftentimes, when we take steps towards change, it can feel overwhelming and scary. Trying to take those steps without support can feel even more intimidating. I want you to know that you don't have to take these steps alone. Whether you're facing challenges regulating your emotions, relationship issues, or navigating the complexities of just being human, counseling can be a space for you to explore what's serving you well and what areas could use more focus and change. Our sessions will be based in a collaborative and strengths-based approach, leading to a place where you can discover your inner resources, values, and resilience.

I specialize in trauma, OCD, and chronic pain.
I work best with folks who want therapy to feel active and focused. If you're looking for real progress, not just a place to vent, we might be a good fit. My approach is structured, collaborative, and goal-oriented. My practice’s motto, “where action meets insight,” reflects my belief that therapy isn't just about the one hour a week we meet. Real change happens in the hours you’re living your life outside of session. Our work will focus on building insight, using practical tools, and making meaningful shifts that last beyond therapy.

I work with individuals and couples that are ready to prioritize the work of therapy so they can be more self-aware, move through their days with more ease, and have more functional relationships. Maybe you’ve seen therapists in the past, and now find yourself seeking more from therapy than someone who listens and validates. I strive to offer concrete takeaways from our sessions.

This process helps you resist compulsions, stop the mental spiral, and move forward.
You can’t shut your mind off. The same intrusive thought keeps hitting—violent, sexual, blasphemous, or just completely out of character—and no matter how hard you try to push it away, it comes back stronger. You question what it means about you. You replay it, analyze it, check your feelings, look for certainty… and still feel no relief. Maybe you’re constantly asking, “What if this thought is real?” or “What if I’m becoming someone I don’t want to be?” You’re exhausted, stuck in your own head, and starting to lose trust in yourself.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists
How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
