I help women who are passionate about finding their most authentic selves, and possess a deep desire to live a life that's a true reflection of who they are and their values. Women are finding new ways of living everyday, but change is often scary, especially when we lack a working template of the ways we want to show up different. We want a life that leaves us feeling fulfilled, rather than empty. Inspired rather than soulless. To live a life driven by purpose and passion. Working together, we'll explore how to break free from learned toxic relationship patterns, unhealthy societal expectations, and outdated gender roles.

My ideal client is a woman, from college age to mid 50’s, who is going though various life transitions, such as divorce/separation, career changes, navigation parenting/family dynamics, new relationships, and empty nesting. Life ’s transitions aren’t always easy. Tackling these times with a life coach, however, makes approaching these times easier—and can even make them a positive pathway to your future. As a certified Life Coach, our sessions are oriented towards the future. With my assistance, clients should be ready to assess their goals and formulate plans to align values and actions with personal goals.

My clients often are experiencing a life that feels without meaning and control. A life that is filled with chronic stress. This stress results from conflict in our relationships and multiple roles in life . At other times, this stress is residue from unresolved life events that have depleted the ability to see through a lens of love. Life then naturally becomes driven by fear. If you are seeking to learn a way to create a life that feels worth living, despite any circumstance. I can teach you the way. The majority of my clients are experiencing anxiety, anger and depression in their daily life .

I understand that life doesn't always go as we planned. But unwanted changes don't define us. I see adaptation as one of our greatest abilities. I believe that we are all are entitled to unconditional positive regard and to be met where we are at in the quest to live our best life . I use a cognitive behavioral approach to increase insight and help you bring about your own positive changes.

At An Open Mind, LLC, we use a coaching approach rather than traditional counseling.
I enjoy working with children and families who are struggling to understand each other and get along. A lack of communication and an inability to express feelings appropriately are often the main issues in these relationships. I work with not only the children/teens to increase their abilities in these areas, I also work with the parents and siblings to help them understand how they can help the relationship be less turbulent.

Although my background is in trauma, I have clinical experience and training in assisting all people in dealing with the variety of life struggles. We all face different challenges in life and respond to them in our own ways. As such, each approach in treatment should be unique and person centered. My goal is to help each person along their journey in processing and overcoming their unique challenges so that they can thrive on their own.

I help Christian women who feel like life just isn't working out. Maybe you give constantly to others, but your relationships are still not satisfying. You work really hard to make things ok, but hard things keep happening, you aren't sure who you are, and you can't shake a sense of general disappointment with God, other people, and life in general. I'll work with you to overcome those hard things and disappointments in a way that lets you move toward healthy and connected relationships with God and other people.

Life Coaching Therapists

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
