Through working with people from all walks of life, I have seen trauma's life-altering impact.
Trauma treatment is not a "One size fits all" fix, but rather an individualized treatment approach. Collaborating with my clients to develop the ideal treatment plan is essential.

We work on calming the nervous system first, then building the life.
My ideal clients are people who have tried to manage something hard, alone, quietly, and for too long. Couples where addiction has become the third presence in the marriage. Partners who love someone who drinks too much and don't know where the line is anymore. People carrying anxiety that looks like productivity from the outside. Young adults who have done everything right and feel nothing. Anyone whose nervous system has been running on high alert so long that stress feels normal. You don't have to be in crisis to reach out. You just have to be tired of where you are.

I have been in practice for over 25 years and have walked through many life transitions with long-term clients, including pre-marital counseling, couple conflict resolution, affair recovery, new parenting, caring for aging parents, parenting teenagers, grief and loss.
It is my honor and privilege to get to work in a profession that I love, where I am able to partner with hard-working people to find solutions to their struggles. I have seen the positive results of people being able to open up in a non-threatening environment. Together, we look at your whole self, taking into account relationships and their influence on who you are. I'm passionate about my work and I'm blessed to have the opportunity to witness someone making a significant change and being there when they experience the moment or series of moments where it all clicks.

My socks seldom match, but life is too short for matching socks, right?
Whether you are going through a difficult period or just need someone to lend an ear, together we can tackle anxiety, trauma, depression, and life transitions. We first start by talking about whatever you feel ready to talk about. This helps to build an understanding of patterns and history that will move our work together forward.

Whether you’re struggling with addiction, recovery, or life’s challenges, you don’t have to face it alone.
Counseling involves certain risks. You may experience difficult emotions as you explore painful memories or address the impact of alcohol and drug use on yourself and others. These feelings, though uncomfortable, are part of healing. Counseling may also lead to changes in relationships. Progress isn’t guaranteed and depends on your effort and commitment. Your counselor will assess your growth, offer guidance, and refer you to other resources if needed. Therapy is a collaborative process focused on your recovery and personal growth.

If you are experiencing distress in your life for any reason, it would be my great privilege to walk alongside you and provide the support you feel is needed.
Are you struggling with stress or anxiety? Are you experiencing conflict in your relationships or marriage? Do you have a child that is struggling with focus, attention, or emotional regulation? Have you experienced grief, loss, or trauma? Are you uncertain about therapy because you are concerned the approach won't match your personal values? Do you wish you could find a therapist/coach that would be creative/unorthodox? I use a holistic and integrative approach to address areas of concern for families and individuals in a safe atmosphere of acceptance.

While I have a wealth of professional and personal knowledge and expertise in individual and family recovery from addictions/compulsive behaviors, family of origin issues and life patterns that prevent authentic living, I do not approach the relationship as an "expert" but rather as a supportive guide who joins you on the journey.
I support growth in recovering from addictive behaviors, depression, anxiety, personality disorder, trauma, and I love working with individuals, couples and families around transition issues. I also assist in breaking free of generational patterns that prevent wholehearted, authentic and connected living. Relational recovery and wellness is my purpose.

Life Coaching Therapists
What can I expect from life coaching?
Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?
Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?
Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?
Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
