I am passionate about supporting clients through generational trauma, change, and growth. Being the first in your family to do things differently is not an easy journey, but it's a remarkably brave one. Change can be difficult, and even positive change can be stressful. I specialize in working with complex trauma survivors, clients navigating relocation and other major life changes, first-generation college students, and clients who find themselves feeling stuck between knowing the changes they want to make and implementing them.

You’re stuck in a cycle that’s exhausting to keep up with—anxiety, overthinking, and the constant pressure to prove your worth through how much you do or how well you perform.
Many of the women I work with are moms, college students, young professionals, and athletes who feel driven to succeed, yet internally feel overwhelmed, self-critical, or never quite “enough.”
Together, we work to shift out of people-pleasing and performance-driven identity into a more grounded, steady sense of self—where you can experience clarity, emotional stability, and a deeper sense of who you are apart from expectations.

Most people have difficulty navigating major changes at some stage of life. I treat individuals, couples and families with such developmental or adjustment difficulty or general mental health issues such as depression & anxiety. I offer counseling for marital and relationship issues either with the couple or one of the individuals if the other is resistant to couples therapy. Other frequently seen issues include dealing with loss of partner or friend or family member due to death or divorce, and the problems associated with work or school stress.

Sometimes life hits harder than it should- whether it’s something that happened once, like an accident or assault, or stress that’s built up over years in family life, military, or emergency response. You might feel anxious, shut down, or like you can’t fully relax, no matter how much you try. These are often the lasting effects of long-term stress or trauma.
I help people heal from the inside out using EMDR therapy—an approach that helps your brain and body finally release what’s been weighing you down. We work on calming your nervous system, processing the past, and helping you feel more present and grounded in your life again.

Do you feel like no matter how much you support your child, they still struggle with self-doubt & get easily overwhelmed...and you're not sure what else to do? Maybe your child has started to withdrawal or is having emotional outbursts & you're concerned that you don't know how to help or that you're failing them and you've tried almost everything. You might find yourself second-guessing your every decision & think, "Am I making this worse?" or "Why can't I figure this out?". Maybe you've even spent nights Googling for solutions. The truth is, you're not alone & needing support doesn't make you less of a parent, it makes you human.

Many people seeking therapy are simply sensitive souls in need of new or different ways of protecting themselves in a world which does not always honor the intuitive, sensitive, and creative self. I am passionate about helping individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, and obsessional thinking that I believe often results from highly sensitive, creative individuals lacking an outlet for expressing and/or understanding themselves.

I have always been interested in understanding the world from other people's points of view. My job as a therapist is to understand your story and how your worldview informs the way you react to life stressors. My goal is to help you utilize your own strengths and insight to feel calm, centered, and content in a world that often isn't. I enjoy working with adults of all ages, the LGBTQ/alternative lifestyle community, and I provide sex-positive treatment. A few fun facts about me that you will likely learn if we are working together: I'm a parent to 2 humans and 4 cats, I love to travel, I practice yoga, and I'm a bit of a Swiftie.

FAQ - Therapist Gender
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
