I am a licensed professional counselor and have over 12 years of experience helping people with a large range of issues dealing with depression, anxiety, OCD, trauma, grief, and major changes in a person's life.
I provide therapy to people from all walks of life and tailor counseling to each individual. I meet people right where they are to help them take steps towards the life they want. I believe that people who struggle with their thoughts and feelings are often just looking for a way to be the person they want to be and sometimes get lost along the way. They want to hold true to their personal values when making choices but have trouble finding a way forward. I believe that, through therapy, people can learn new and creative ways to respond to those thoughts and feelings so they can get back to living a life guided by their values.

I incorporate aspects of Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and mindfulness to my ERP practice when treating severe anxiety and OCD.
Working one on one with individuals is my greatest joy. Being given the privilege of joining someone, to help navigate their challenges is an experience I’m thankful for every day. I value collaborating with my patients to create treatment goals and to monitor their progress.

Hello and Welcome! It takes incredible courage to seek out help and I honor your decision to explore a new path of growth and healing. Growing up in a small rural town, I learned the power of community and belonging, but also the struggle of finding my own way within it. When I finally met with a therapist who truly saw me, I began to understand myself for the first time. That experience showed me the healing power of connection and acceptance, which I now bring to my work. I believe that healing happens in healthy relationships—with ourselves, with others, and within our communities. You deserve to be seen, valued, and connected.

Trauma affects us all at some level - surviving physical pain, emotional pain, or spiritual pain - and it can keep us from living the life we want. We want to see you thrive through your healing process instead of continuing to struggle with worry, overwhelm, anxiety, depression, grief, and unhealthy relationships.

You may be feeling emotionally overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from yourself or others. Anxiety, low mood, intrusive thoughts, emotional reactivity, or major life changes may make it hard to feel grounded or hopeful. Many clients I work with are thoughtful and motivated, yet feel caught in patterns that no longer serve them emotionally, relationally, or physically. They want relief, clarity, and a more meaningful way forward that aligns with who they are and what truly matters.

How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
