We are in-network for Cigna, Aetna, Optum, and UHC, and can also provide a superbill for my out-of-network/self-pay clients which may help with insurance provider reimbursement.
If you identify with any of these struggles we may be a good fit: You feel stuck, anxious, overwhelmed, or lost during a transition in life, relationship or career. You're exploring "who am I, really?," and other essential questions in life. You're feeling unsure or unsupported while experiencing grief and loss of all kinds. You struggle with adult ADHD and its effect on adulting, relationships and creativity and asking yourself "how do I manage it all AND make room for fun?!" And most importantly, you're having a difficult time answering "When was the last time I felt present, connected, curious, joyful, playful, or in awe?"

If you’ve found yourself saying: “My body feels like it’s holding things I can’t name.” “I miss who I was before the pain.” “I’m tired of my body making decisions for me.” “I’m afraid the people in my life think I’m being dramatic.” “I’m tired of being dismissed in medical spaces." …we might be a great fit. I work with people living with chronic pain and illness, especially those who sense that their bodies are carrying the weight of trauma, stress, or long-standing emotional wounds. I hold the belief that your body houses your life experiences, your family's history, your resilience, and the parts of you that never felt fully safe.

Feeling stuck in the same cycle. Overthinking, second-guessing, and feeling like you are falling behind while everyone else seems to move forward. Maybe it is anxiety, self-doubt, or habits that feel too hard to control. You may know something needs to change, but you are unsure how to actually do it. That is exhausting. You do not need surface-level advice or someone just nodding along. You need honest conversations, practical tools, and a clear way forward.

Our experiences, both positive and negative, shape who we are, but we don't have to stay stuck where we are. I believe that the opportunity for significant change occurs in healthy relationships; and that healthy relationships are built on trust, mutual respect, and cooperation. In my practice, I seek to create an environment that allows a healthy therapeutic relationship to develop, which can then be a model that my patients can apply to their relationships outside of the therapeutic environment. If you choose to see me as your therapist, you can expect empathy, compassion, respect, and professionalism.

“Working hard is important. But there is something that matters even more: believing in yourself.” – Harry Potter. I carry this belief into the work I do with clients. Therapy is not just about effort or strategies, but also about uncovering the inner strength and self-trust that make change possible. My approach focuses on creating a space where children and teens can discover their voice, build confidence, and learn tools that help them grow both in and outside of the therapy room.

Being a human is hard, and sometimes overwhelmingly hard. Things going on within, around, or to us can challenge how we experience and engage with life and ourselves. Sometimes we need helping in sorting out our thoughts, feelings, and actions in order to find a way to live both comfortably and authentically. Sometimes we need help finding new perspectives and understandings of ourselves, others, or the world. Sometimes we are comfortable within ourselves, but are facing difficulty in interacting with others and need assistance in uncovering friction points. No matter what it is, you’re welcome to explore it with me.

You may be the person others rely on - the capable one, the responsible one, the one who always finds a way to get things done. From the outside, your life may look successful and well-managed. But inside, you may feel exhausted from carrying so much for so long. Many high-capacity women silently experience burnout. They hold high standards for themselves, juggle significant responsibilities, and often feel pressure to keep everything together. Over time, this can lead to emotional exhaustion, self-doubt, and a sense that your worth has become tied to how much you accomplish.

In my 60+ years I have personally experienced a lot of things that my clients share with me. I am able to empathize or and the very least identify with my clients needs. My approach is Person/Client Centered; Person-centered therapy uses a non-authoritative approach that allows clients to take more of a lead in discussions so that, in the process, they will discover their own solutions. The therapist acts as a compassionate facilitator, listening without judgment and acknowledging the client’s experience without moving the conversation in another direction. The therapist is there to encourage and support the client.

Does insurance cover therapy, prescriptions and other behavioral health services?
In general, yes. Laws in the U.S. require insurers to cover essential behavioral health care at the same level as other health care services. Most health plans require a medical diagnosis and treatments that are evidence based and medically essential. This means that life coaching and alternative therapies are not covered, nor is therapy without a diagnosis. Call the number on the back or your insurance card or visit your insurance company's website to review your Summary of Benefits. If you have insurance through your employer, your Human Resources department may also be able to answer questions.

How much does therapy cost with insurance?
The cost of therapy depends on your region, how much training and experience your therapist has, and the type of treatment. The rate for talk therapy generally falls between $100 and $250. For a client seeing an in-network provider, the cost of therapy is often similar to the cost of other health care services. Clients pay co-pays and may need to satisfy a plan’s deductible before benefits kick in.

What is the difference between In-Network and Out-of-Network insurance coverage?
An in-network provider has contracted with an insurer to get paid directly for services, and to accept the insurer’s rate of compensation. Clients are responsible for deductibles and copays. If a therapist is out of network, that means that the client pays the therapist directly for services at the therapist’s regular fee. Out-of-Network providers often give clients a receipt so that they can file for partial reimbursement with their insurance company.

Is it difficult to find an In-Network therapist?
It is not unusual for therapists to limit the number of insurance patients in their practice, so it’s important to check in-network availability when you schedule your first appointment. In regions and times where therapy is in high demand it may take longer to get scheduled with an in-network therapist.

What is the difference between HMO and PPO insurance plans?
HMO health plans only cover in-network services, there is no reimbursement for out-of-network providers. PPO plans often cover both in- and out-of-network services, though the client may pay more for out-of-network services.

What is a Superbill?
A superbill is a receipt for therapy services. It provides all the information required by insurance companies to reimburse you for out-of-network services, including the diagnostic codes for your care, the amount paid, and the dates and duration of care.

Does insurance cover Online therapy?
Many therapists who shifted their practice to online therapy during the pandemic have kept that arrangement. And most insurers continue to cover telehealth services, with a few exceptions. Preventive care (such as an annual depression screening) is often required to be in-person to be covered, and some states require prescribers of controlled substances to see those patients in person.

Does insurance cover Group therapy?
Many insurance plans provide coverage for group therapy provided there is a medical diagnosis for group members, but there are some noteworthy exceptions. For example, Medicare does not always cover group therapy. Group therapy tends to cost less than individual therapy.

Does insurance cover Couples therapy?
Most insurance companies do not cover the cost of couples therapy because there is no medical diagnosis or medically necessary treatment. However, a few plans will offer a limited benefit, so it is still worth checking with your insurance company. Sometimes therapy is covered for a couple when one person has a diagnosis and another family member joins them for joint therapy, but it is considered therapy for the medical condition that includes a family member as a listener or helper, not couples counseling. Without insurance, most clients pay between $100-300 per 60-90 min session for couples therapy. Often clients can find classes or workshops that make it more affordable to work on their relationship. And some employers offer benefit plans that help defray the cost of couples therapy. Learn more about Insurance Coverage and Finding Affordable Therapy
