I have worked for the past 16 years utilizing a variety of techniques to accomplish healing such as CBT, DBT, trauma focused, EMDR, somatic therapy, polyvagal informed therapy, mindfulness (nature, meditation, etc.), and expressive therapies (art, music, dance, crafting, etc.).
There is a reason we do the things that we do and feel the way that we feel. All mental health issues are caused by us surviving and navigating this world to the best of our abilities given all the obstacles that can get in the way. Therapy is a science and an art. In better understanding the science and the question of “why” we do the things that we do can be a powerful tool in starting your healing journey. Once having this level of insight, therapy aims to not only heal you in the present but heal the deeper underlying issues that have caused things to get to this point.

Hello and welcome! Starting therapy or even returning to therapy can be scary. It is not easy to be vulnerable and doing work in therapy can be hard, but when you find a good fit for a therapist it can be a lot less daunting and a lot more rewarding. If you are an adult and wanting a safe, inviting, and comforting space to cry, process, laugh and/or share good news, then I have the space for you! And if you are a coffee, tea, animal or plant lover then we already have something in common!

I would like to help you learn how to feel more at peace, set healthier boundaries, and find more joy living your life through trauma resolution, reduced anxiety, and improved coping skills
My approach balances lived experience (yours and mine), trauma-informed care, values based exploration, and evidence based modalities like EMDR and ACT to move you into feeling better, stronger, and healed.
EMDR is useful for exploring how the past shows up in the present, and unraveling 'triggers' or trauma responses. Many sessions are interlaced with traditional talk therapy (CBT, ACT). What we do in therapy always depends on what you need from a session.

Today's adults and kids are more connected and busier than ever, yet also feel stuck, unfulfilled, and sometimes lonely. A busy life doesn’t always mean we feel seen and heard. Sometimes life gets messy, and we put on a happy face and tell ourselves, “I will deal with that later.” Pain and loss are realities, but there aren’t lessons in school on how to handle these truths, and our lives can turn gray. The isolation of the pandemic has magnified the importance of human connection. There's something powerful about having a witness to your life story. I would be honored to help you, or your family member find their sunlight.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.
How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.
What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.
Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
