I provide therapy to people from all walks of life and tailor counseling to each individual. I meet people right where they are to help them take steps towards the life they want. I believe that people who struggle with their thoughts and feelings are often just looking for a way to be the person they want to be and sometimes get lost along the way. They want to hold true to their personal values when making choices but have trouble finding a way forward. I believe that, through therapy, people can learn new and creative ways to respond to those thoughts and feelings so they can get back to living a life guided by their values.

We’ll focus on what matters most to you, using evidence-based tools like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and mindfulness-based practices.
Are you carrying more than your share, feeling unseen, or simply running on empty? Whether you're dealing with stress, grief, burnout, relationship strain, or just trying to find your footing in a world that demands so much, you're not alone, and you don't have to figure it out by yourself. I work with adults who want a calm, confidential space to be honest, explore what’s weighing on them, and begin to heal or make meaningful change. Many of my clients are women in caregiving roles, men who’ve been taught to tough it out silently, or people navigating family transitions, loss, and identity shifts.

My approach is warm, practical, and grounded in proven methods like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy ( CBT).
I know that starting counseling can feel like both a relief and a risk. Many people arrive at their first session with a mix of hope and nervousness—hopeful for change, but unsure of what it will be like to sit down with someone new and begin sharing their story.

I have worked for the past 16 years utilizing a variety of techniques to accomplish healing such as CBT, DBT, trauma focused, EMDR, somatic therapy, polyvagal informed therapy, mindfulness (nature, meditation, etc.), and expressive therapies (art, music, dance, crafting, etc.).
There is a reason we do the things that we do and feel the way that we feel. All mental health issues are caused by us surviving and navigating this world to the best of our abilities given all the obstacles that can get in the way. Therapy is a science and an art. In better understanding the science and the question of “why” we do the things that we do can be a powerful tool in starting your healing journey. Once having this level of insight, therapy aims to not only heal you in the present but heal the deeper underlying issues that have caused things to get to this point.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) Therapists
How does cognitive behavioral therapy work?
Cognitive behavioral therapy works by exploring how your thoughts affect your emotions and experiences. CBT helps you identify distortions in your thinking. For example, you may tend to jump to the worst case scenario catastrophizing or think in extremes (all-or-nothing thinking). A therapist can teach you how to push back against those thoughts to ultimately change your feelings and behavior for the better. They can also provide coping skills to better deal with stressors and challenges.
When do I know to seek treatment with cognitive behavioral therapy?
It’s reasonable to consider cognitive behavioral therapy if you struggle to manage difficult emotions or behaviors to such an extent that you are not getting the most out of life on a day-to-day basis. If you want a shorter term, concrete, skills-based approach, CBT is a great option. (By contrast, other types of therapy may devote more time to exploring your past and its effects.) The decision to seek CBT also depends on the condition you’re treating; CBT is an effective treatment for anxiety, depression, trauma, and many other disorders.
How can I find a cognitive behavioral therapist for someone else?
To find a cognitive behavioral therapist for someone else, you may want to begin by discussing the person’s problem, researching cognitive behavioral therapy, and assessing whether the approach is the right fit. You could then reach out to a few cognitive behavioral therapists in this directory, explain the scenario, have a consultation with those available, and determine who could be a good match.
Why is CBT such a popular form of therapy?
CBT has become a popular form of therapy because it is effective and accessible. Robust research has demonstrated that CBT is an effective treatment for many mental health conditions. And CBT can be learned in relatively few sessions, which means that many people can engage in the process, afford it, and see results quickly. It involves learning concrete skills such as disputing unhelpful thoughts; these skills can also be taught and spread widely.
