I’m a licensed therapist with 10 years of experience supporting children, teens, and their families. Much of my work has focused on helping young people manage anxiety, emotional regulation, school stress, and family conflict. I know how challenging it can be for parents to support their children while juggling their own stress, so I work closely with families to improve communication and strengthen relationships at home.
My approach is calm, direct, and collaborative. I want clients—whether teen or adult—to feel comfortable being themselves and confident that therapy is a practical step toward change, not just a place to talk.

You may feel stuck in painful relationship patterns or overwhelmed by emotions that are difficult to understand. Many couples come to therapy because they care deeply about one another but feel caught in cycles of conflict, disconnection, or emotional distance. Others seek support for trauma, PTSD, attachment wounds, betrayal, or past experiences that continue to affect their sense of safety, trust, and connection in relationships. You may be hoping to better understand your emotional responses, improve communication, heal from painful experiences, and create stronger, more secure relationships moving forward.

Progress is made in the struggle; if we’re not struggling, we’re stagnant. People are inherently resilient and resourceful, yet sometimes we bump up against something that leaves us feeling stuck or disconnected. If you have found yourself reading this, perhaps you’re tired of feeling “stagnant” or you feel ready to wrestle with the issues bringing you to therapy. I am dedicated to assisting my clients in navigating trauma, family of origin issues, eating disorders, body image concerns, and depression and anxiety. I also enjoy working with first responders and their families, and neurodivergent individuals!

Relationships and chronic health issues are unique areas that we attach deep emotions to. The emotion allows us to label our level of satisfaction. Its hard to be happy when you just had the same conversation with your mate again without resolution. Its hard to have hope when you are struggling to find the strength for another fertility treatment. Increased fatigue, depression and anxiety begin to take over. They impact your self esteem, increase guilt and resentment and make every day a battle. If relationships, life transitions or chronic health issues are hindering you then I can help you establish control of your life again.

As an AASECT- Certified Sex Therapist, I treat a full range of sexual, relationship and intimacy issues. Sex is one of the deepest and most powerful experiences we have, yet it can also cause distress and embarrassment when it does not go smoothly. Compounding the problem, many have been socialized to feel uncomfortable with sex or haven't received accurate sexual health information. Many people struggle in silence with sexual dysfunction or have erotic interests that result in tremendous amounts of shame.

Psychological testing provides a structured, evidence-based way to understand how a person thinks, learns, communicates, regulates emotions, and responds to everyday demands. My evaluations are designed to clarify concerns, identify meaningful patterns of strengths and weaknesses, and distinguish among conditions that may appear similar, including attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorder, learning difficulties, mood and anxiety conditions, and cognitive decline due to age, head injury, or other medical concerns.

I practice counseling with the perspective that humans develop behaviors to serve some sort of purpose. As a counselor, I am here to offer guidance and support for when those behaviors are no longer necessary or are no longer serving the purpose that was intended. I strive to assist clients in developing a balance in how they both experience and express emotions, with the belief that there is no "bad" emotion. My goal is to work with clients in discovering a state of awareness of the uncertainty in life rather than a fear of it.

At times, it can be hard to find providers with experience in the areas where you’ve been struggling. Folks with eating disorders or disordered eating, perinatal and postpartum challenges, and trauma and PTSD can feel very alone and misunderstood as they try to find a community who has experience treating these issues. While I have experience in all of those areas, I also enjoy treating clients dealing with general self-esteem and self-worth issues, anxiety, depression and relationship issues. I believe in helping clients heal by rebuilding trust within themselves and with others as part of the therapeutic process.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.
Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
How much does therapy cost?
The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.
What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?
Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
Are therapy sessions confidential?
Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
