Hello and Welcome! It takes incredible courage to seek out help and I honor your decision to explore a new path of growth and healing. Growing up in a small rural town, I learned the power of community and belonging, but also the struggle of finding my own way within it. When I finally met with a therapist who truly saw me, I began to understand myself for the first time. That experience showed me the healing power of connection and acceptance, which I now bring to my work. I believe that healing happens in healthy relationships—with ourselves, with others, and within our communities. You deserve to be seen, valued, and connected.

Hi and welcome! I am passionate about working with individuals on how they show up in relationships. This might look like noticing unhelpful relationship patterns but struggling to change it, having a hard time speaking up, or become easily irritated with others and later feeling guilty. This also includes goals of strengthening your connection to your partner and improving communication. If this is you, I'd love to talk further! I have significant experience working with veterans, LEOs, and trans/GNC clients. I also provide WPATH letters of support as part of my practice.

You've probably tried pushing through on your own — white-knuckling anxiety, managing ADHD by sheer willpower, or holding grief and chronic stress at arm's length until the weight becomes too much. I became a therapist because I lived that. An on-the-job injury ended my first career and nearly ended my sense of self. Learning to rebuild — slowly, with real tools is what brought me to this work. I help adults across Tennessee navigate anxiety, ADHD, trauma, grief, anger, and chronic pain through telehealth, on your schedule, without the commute.

Unbearable emotional and somatic states, relationship problems, identity crises, difficult life transitions, losses, grief, and trauma are some of the many experiences that plague us and make life hard. While suffering is a natural part of life, it is understandable to want to move away from it. However, it is when we give our suffering a voice that healing can begin.

I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families who feel stuck in patterns that don’t change, even when they understand them. Many are thoughtful, self-aware people who sense something deeper is driving how they think, feel, and relate. In sessions, we focus on how those patterns show up in real time, within yourself and in relationships. The work isn’t just insight. It’s something you can experience directly. Sessions are longer, the caseload is small, and the pace allows for depth and continuity, so change isn’t temporary. It becomes something that holds over time and carries into how you live and relate.

Families oftentimes find themselves needing more help than ever when dealing with youth who are in their turbulent teenage years. My specialty has been with youth of all ages, but especially teens, and their families. My real goal as a therapist is to help bring peace and hope to families who have experienced trauma and feel hopeless.

You want more than just feeling better - you want to create a better life for yourself and those you love - but you're stuck. You want to get closer to who and how you want to be. You've tried everything you can think of and you still feel bad - physically, spiritually, mentally. What would you be doing if anxiety, panic, sadness, lack of motivation, anger, or confusion wasn't standing in your way? If difficult conversations happened without ending in a blow up, shut down, or disconnection - could life be better together?

I work with adult individuals and couples who are high-functioning but emotionally overwhelmed. Many are high achievers, codependent, or emotionally immature, and find themselves stuck in anxiety-driven or unbalanced relationship patterns. They suppress needs, manage others’ emotions, and say "I'm fine"—until resentment, anger, or shutdown takes over. My approach is past-aware, present-focused, and skill-based. Together, we interrupt patterns, regulate the nervous system, and turn insight into real-life change—especially in relationships. If your brain feels loud and tired of spiraling, snapping, or overgiving, this work is for you!

FAQ - About Therapy for Seniors
Is one ever too old for mental health therapy?
Individuals of all ages can benefit from mental health therapy. Indeed, older adults in particular may benefit from the social and psychological support a therapist can provide; the topics that older adults address in therapy may simply differ from those of younger clients. Seniors should seek out a therapist who has experience working with older individuals and who is well-versed in addressing common concerns among elderly individuals, such as depression, anxiety, loneliness, and physical mobility challenges.

How is counseling for seniors and the elderly different from counseling for other age groups?
In general, counseling offers an opportunity for clients to process difficult life events and develop coping skills they can use outside of the therapy session. Therapists who specialize in working with elderly clients generally have the same framework but may place a special emphasis on specific topics, such as caregiver relationships and reducing loneliness. They may be specially equipped to deal with certain physical conditions or facilitate discussion surrounding end-of-life topics. Counseling for the elderly may also place a greater emphasis on social work-type topics to ensure that geriatric clients have access to necessary resources, such as food, a safe home environment, and healthcare.

How can therapy improve the quality of life of aging individuals?
Therapy for aging adults can greatly improve quality of life by providing an opportunity for them to process difficult emotions related to end-of-life, navigate relational or caregiver challenges, and develop coping skills for common mental health conditions, like anxiety or depression. Subsequent reductions in negative emotions and mental health disorder symptoms can make day-to-day living much more manageable for aging adults and those that care for them. The ongoing relationship with a trusted therapist can also help seniors combat loneliness and provide a sense of structure for their routine.

What are the qualities to look for in therapists who see seniors?
Seniors counselors, like mental health counselors in general, should be kind, empathetic, skilled at listening, and knowledgeable about their particular area of expertise. Counselors specializing in working with the senior population should be very familiar with the aging process in general and the common conditions that the elderly can face, such as dementia, depression, loneliness, and/or physical illness. Many senior counselors are also well-equipped to help caregivers and families navigate the aging process of their loved ones, and they may draw on Interpersonal Therapy to help facilitate improved interactions between seniors and those that care for them.
