For over 14 years, I’ve guided women in rebuilding confidence and reconnecting with themselves through trauma-informed work. Through both individual and group work, I’ve helped clients process trauma, deepen self-awareness, and move toward greater emotional clarity and resilience. Today, my work has expanded to support healers, providers, and innovative leaders who spend their lives caring for others. Holding space for people every day can be deeply meaningful—but it can also be heavy. I offer a place where those who support others can tend to their own mental health, process what they carry, and reconnect with themselves.

With compassion, insight and acceptance, I can help you explore the issues which prevent you from success in your personal and professional relationships. I believe that we all possess much of the knowledge needed to answer life's questions; however, as with all things, we sometimes simply forget where to look. I see my work primarily as a guide, helping my clients find their own answers and their own happiness.I view therapy as a way to gain self awareness in order to understand one's pattern of relating to others and dealing with life's challenges.

We all have an innate capacity to create a sense of well-being. Yet, the demands of our lives---difficult relationships, losses, disappointments, transitions---can cause feelings of helplessness or even despair. Vitality falls way to depression or anxiety or addictive behaviors. Therapy can be useful to better understand and manage the complexities of your life; to reclaim some vitality; to love, work, and play in ways that are more congruent with who you strive to be. With twenty five years of experience, I offer seasoned and compasssionate guidance as you define your specific goals and work toward inhabiting a truer version of yourself.

I believe you deserve the opportunity to meet your most authentic and confident self and to find joy in the journey of doing so. Whether that means healing from trauma, finding where you belong, or learning how to get out of your own way— we can work together to make space in your life for what matters, and that's you. I also acknowledge that each of us exists within larger systems (some of which can be inherently unjust) and that building such a life often requires you to find belongingness and support both from within and from without. I strive to make therapy a healing space but also approachable, safe, and even silly sometimes!

I'm known for a direct, intuitive and loving approach. Like the horses, I tell it like it is and I hold space for you to find contentment and growth. First session is information gathering, goal setting and education on what can provide you with some immediate relief from symptoms. We support that foundation each time we meet and go deeper emotionally to understand the "hows and whys" of what got you stuck. I may provide readings or other activities to do in between sessions so that therapy becomes a new habit for you. Horses help us by supporting our authenticity as we engage the new things we have learned.

There are moments when your mind and body stop moving in the same direction; when you feel a deep disconnection from yourself, your emotions, or the world around you. For many navigating mood or personality disorders, addiction, shame, motherhood, or the long shadow of childhood trauma, this isn’t a rare moment; it’s a well‑practiced survival strategy. Your nervous system is doing what it learned long ago: protect you, even if the protection now feels like distance. Disconnection isn’t a failure; it’s a biological stress response.

For the past two decades, clients have come to me at every stage of their lives. I refer to this as their "beginnings, middles and ends" of their lifetime. I see teenagers struggling to be understood and truly heard. I help couples after the "honeymoon is over" , I assist parents with major life obstacles, I help people make difficult decisions about their careers and even guide them at the end of their lives. With each stage, I ask the client what they want out of their experience with therapy and give the client the power and voice. I guide them with their goals and help create a safe place to explore their emotions and options.

I work with people who have complicated family relationships, which often include addiction, boundary conflicts, or a lack of emotional understanding. They tend to be anxious overthinkers, striving to break intergenerational cycles, but they struggle to connect with themselves on a deeper level. Our work together will focus on increasing emotional understanding, identifying the patterns that are keeping you from living the life you desire, and moving into a space of self-acceptance.

There are moments in life when we can hit an emotional road block. New challenges may present themselves that are difficult to overcome alone. Life can become either overwhelming or we can learn new coping strategies and overcome old wounds. These difficulties do not have to derail us. This is why I strive to help people return to a place where they can grow and flourish to their fullest potential. I believe in an integrated vision of the human person. As a psychologist, I seek healing that acknowledges the interdependent psychological, biological and spiritual aspects of my clients.

I help children, teens/young adults, adults, couples, and families across the life span struggling with anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, bipolar/mood disorders, and relational issues.
Healing happens when we attend to our attachment wounds, address our inner parts' needs, and adopt healthy communication patterns and boundaries. When we feel heard in safe spaces, we can begin to unpack past hurts, explore our needs, and express our feelings. I utilize an integrative and supportive approach to honor clients' stories and needs, establish and reignite meaningful relationships, and practice mindful emotional expression. My goal is to support clients as they explore past memories, enhance present connections, and process their hopes for the future.

As a trauma specialist and former First Responder, I understand the unique challenges of high-stress environments and how deeply trauma can impact daily life. These experiences can weigh heavily, leading to anxiety, depression, fear, and isolation. Reaching out for support isn’t easy—but you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Bipolar Disorder Therapists
What is the most successful approach to treating bipolar disorder?
Living with bipolar disorder can be challenging, and a number of therapies have been found effective in providing support to patients as they gain the skills to understand and manage the disorder. Family-focused therapy is often helpful for children and teens (the majority of cases develop before age 19); it aims to minimize mood cycling by improving family communication and reducing conflict. It also helps young people navigate the developmental challenges the disorder can create. Cognitive and behavioral therapy (CBT) and variants such as Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)help patients manage the thoughts and feelings that influence bipolar mood swings as well as develop specific behavioral strategies to counteract them.

What happens in therapy for bipolar disorder?
Because the patterns of mood switching and its triggers differ for each person and can change over time, mood tracking or monitoring becomes a basic way patients learn about the nature of their condition. One of the most common features of therapy is finding a workable method of mood monitoring, in which patients track their daily activities and rate their moods, then use the findings to adjust routines accordingly. Patients learn ways of handling the many stresses that arise in life so that they do not trigger mood swings.

What kinds of problems does therapy help with?
Like many other mental health disorders, BPD is heavily influenced by stress; therapy provides skills for coping with stressors of all kinds. Therapy is extremely important for helping individuals identify the situations that may trigger mood switching, so that mood swings can be prevented. Therapy may especially target recognition of the early stages of mood change so that they can be managed. In addition, therapy helps patients deal with the significant amount of turbulence the disorder can create in relationships and in work life.

What is the goal of therapy for bipolar disorder?
Therapy helps patients set up their lives to maintain stability so that their mood isn’t constantly threatened by daily events. Perhaps the first task of therapy is to educate people about the nature of the disorder. At the same time, a primary goal of therapy is to enhance adherence to drug treatment. Extended periods of mood stability can prompt patients to discontinue medication, triggering relapse, while the early phases of manic episodes can feel so energizing that patients stop medication, ushering in full-blown mania and the altered self-perception that can lead to destructive behaviors. Another major goal of therapy is to understand one’s mood patterns so as to minimize both the frequency and intensity of mood cycling.
