I am licensed in both California and Tennessee. My passion is working with women, I believe that we all need a space to be ourselves, without judgement, prejudice, shame or guilt. We cannot do this life alone, we all need support and "our person". and a space to be our selves. My goal is to create a safe place to be able to process, reflect, and work through the difficult times. I was born in Kitwe, Zambia (Africa) and was raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. My family and I immigrated to the USA twenty 28 years ago. I have been married for 46 years and have three adult daughters, two son in laws and two beautiful grandchildren.

You might know something “makes sense” — but it still doesn’t feel okay. You might understand your past logically, but emotions like fear, shame, or sadness still show up in your body in ways that feel overwhelming or confusing. Many people feel stuck in this gap between logic and feeling. It can be frustrating to recognize patterns and feel powerless to shift them. In our work together, we explore not only what happened but how it lives on in you, so healing can move from insight into experience.

I use CBT, DBT, and Strength-based approaches to help individuals achieve the life they want and enjoy using different approaches with therapy as I know everyone is an individual and has individual needs.
I offer a calm approach in a non-judgmental environment. I meet individuals where they are at in their mental health and believe everyone is their own unique individual person, and there is not one thing that works for everyone. My client's goals are set based on what they want in their life.

The scariest part of therapy isn't what you'll have to say — it's what you might discover. Like the courage you forgot you had. Or the truth that you were never the sum of your worst moments in life. That you have always been valuable, and you never deserved the hurt you carried. Therapy is where your voice finally gets to take up space.

I use evidence-based approaches like ACT (understand what matters to you), CBT (untangle thoughts that don't serve you), DBT (manage intense emotions), and EMDR (process trauma).
Have you noticed that thoughts about food and your body take up more mental space than you’d like? You may feel preoccupied with food and body image, caught in cycles of self‑criticism, and unsure how to move forward. Maybe you’re just exhausted from trying to hold it all together. You don’t have to know exactly what’s wrong or have the perfect words for it. You just know you want something different. You’re ready to rebuild trust with yourself, feel more present in your life, and step out of survival mode. As an anxiety and eating disorder therapist, I believe that everyone deserves to find peace and trust within themselves.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
