My approach is rooted in evidence-based therapies, with a focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Behavioral Activation, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure Response Prevention ( ERP).
“It is often the small steps, not the giant leaps, that bring about the most lasting change.” Sometimes it feels like a series of Natural 1 rolls in life. As your therapist, I'm walking this journey with you, while holding the hope until you reach that critical success. I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and their families, but because we all have that inner child, I see folks of all ages. I strive to meet you where you are so we can embrace growth, healing, and self-discovery. I’m passionate about facilitating lasting change in people’s lives, and I believe that to see change you must actively make that change.

Looking for that light at the end of the tunnel? Wondering if you'll ever be "normal" or live a life you enjoy? Imagining what life would/could look like without a mental illness? I asked myself these same questions years ago and now I am here helping others find that light, hope, and enjoyment in life again, that right now seems only like a dream.

Clarksville Counseling is a group of licensed and pre-licensed clinicians who work collaboratively to provide quality, client-centered care. Our pre-licensed therapists practice under supervision as they complete their clinical training, allowing us to offer a range of perspectives and approaches within a unified, supportive environment. One of the first questions we ask new clients is if they have ever been in therapy before. Unfortunately, many people have had a negative therapy experience in the past because they felt their therapist didn't "get" them or understand what they were really going through.

You may be feeling weighed down by anxiety, low mood, body-image struggles, or the pressure to keep going when everything feels heavy. Maybe you’re a teen, young adult, or parent trying to make sense of who you are while managing stress, expectations, or identity questions. You want relief, connection, and a place where you can show up as your full self. Therapy becomes a space where you can slow down, feel seen, and begin to set some of that weight down—one step at a time.

Therapy is something of a family calling—my mom is a therapist, and my own mental health journey inspired me to continue that path. I have deep compassion for those living with OCD and truly understand how anxiety can distort thoughts and emotions. Having faced my own fears and intrusive thoughts, I know how powerful therapy can be—and how hard it can feel to open up. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you can share freely and begin to heal without judgment.

Do I need exposure and response prevention therapy?
Many clients decide to seek help for obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors when these symptoms are distressing enough to disrupt everyday life. Any thoughts or behaviors that cause friction in close relationships are also worth addressing. In addition, the client’s symptoms don’t have to be severe for them to benefit from ERP therapy.

Is exposure and response prevention therapy part of cognitive behavioral therapy?
Exposure and response prevention is one specific type of CBT that focuses on behavioral change in response to triggering stimuli. It is related to exposure therapy but adds an additional component of preventing compulsive and harmful responses.

How long does exposure and response prevention therapy take?
While every patient is different, exposure and response prevention therapy typically lasts around 12 sessions, although some treatments can take longer. A therapist will determine if the treatment is complete based on how the client faces their fears, particularly the strongest ones. When a client feels less anxiety about stimuli that once evoked terror or distress, that is generally an indication that they are nearing the end of ERP therapy.

What are the limitations of exposure and response prevention therapy?
The most common pitfalls of exposure and response prevention therapy include not addressing a client’s core fears, allowing the client to avoid their most distressing stimuli, and using imaginary exposure when the client requires real-life exposure (and vice versa). ERP therapy is most effective when the client commits to the full course of treatment; if the client stops early or doesn’t practice what they have learned outside of therapy sessions, they are less likely to have successful outcomes.
