My clients are interested in true change, even if that means having their assumptions challenged. They want to grow emotionally, build resilience, and increase self-awareness. While managing symptoms can be important, my clients have a desire to get to the root of their issues. They want to feel as if they are the driver of their life. I attract clients who are curious and passionate; have a history of childhood or attachment trauma; struggle with identity, self worth, and disconnection; feel their past traumas significantly impact their present; and/or despite consciously wanting to change, they have been unable to do so.

When you cut a tree down and look at the growth rings added every year, you can see the way fire, water, wind, and people have impacted its life each year. I believe that people are no different. Our environment shapes us, and nevertheless we grow. Some years are harder than others, but even within the hard years, growth takes place.

I believe that we are designed to exist with the whole of ourselves being able to commune together and take up space. Maybe you even believe it and yet as hard as you have tried, there are just some places within yourself that feel impossible to get to, some patterns that feel impossible to move out of, some emotional expressions and experiences that feel so out of reach. Or maybe you just feel stuck. Stuck in ways you can name and in some you can’t even put words to. Maybe it’s been like this forever — maybe you can’t even think of a time when you didn’t have to be vigilant or anxious or disconnected from parts of yourself.

My clients struggle with life just like you. They want more in life and have struggled to find fullness and meaning. They are hurting from wounds from the past, difficulties in present-day relationships, and wrestle with self-identity. Just like you, they have tried everything they can think of to help themselves, perhaps even trying therapy or counseling before. And like you, they want a place to explore life in a nonjudgmental and safe environment.

As a temperament counselor, I give clients a questionnaire to complete in order to help them identify their core/soul needs. Once a client understands their temperament, we can develop a strategy to live a life that is more stable and fruitful. Teens who struggle to understand their identity, self worth and passions are also favorite clients. Premarital counseling is so vital to set a solid foundation before entering into the marriage union. Marriage counseling is important and necessary for strong families and communities which I spend a fair amount of time navigating these unions.

I love working with all relationship issues, conflict cycles & resolution, finding reconnection with couples, confronting relational trauma (all that stuff we bring into relationships) & then working specifically with infidelity & betrayal trauma, working to get out of negative cycles with your partner or even in your dating life & healing your "picker" to stop repeating patterns in dating.
ATTN: Couples + Individual Women: You’re craving real connection, some change, some clarity, and closure — in yourself and/or in your relationship. You’ve done the work you know to do, read all the books, maybe even tried therapy before… but old patterns keep looping. You want peace and change, not just “coping.” You want repair that actually lasts. Whether you’re feeling stuck in conflict, disconnected, or carrying pain that won’t seem to move, working with someone who gets it can help you make sense of it all. Let’s help you heal what hurts, strengthen what’s working, and build what’s missing.

Services include weekly sessions and private intensives (multi-hour or multi-day) for couples, singles, and professionals navigating crisis, betrayal, or major transitions.
Feeling distant or stuck in your relationship? Maybe trust has been broken, or every conversation seems to turn into an argument. Even once-loving couples can start living like polite roommates—hurt, lonely, and unsure how to reconnect. I’m one of only a few therapists in Tennessee certified in the Gottman Method for couples therapy—a research-based approach that helps most couples rebuild closeness and communication. My office provides a safe, structured, and encouraging space where both partners feel heard and respected.

I specialize in trauma, couples, and infidelity.
My goal is to help you love yourself for who you truly are. This can take the form of identifying who you truly are rather than attempting to fit into the boxes you feel others want you to be. I have a passion for working with individuals who have experienced trauma. And helping couples reconnect and understand each other deeper to stop the same arguments from occurring . I want to help you feel more confident navigating the world while feeling safe, less anxious, and able to stop those constant negative thoughts that can be paralyzing at times. I am trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and other trauma modalities

You may find that after the first session you feel great relief. In person/ Video sessions are available for anyone living in TN.

In everyone's journey we are confronted by obstacles, conflict and difficult choices. We need guidance and understanding to assist us in the search for our best self. Self discovery through therapy can be enlightening and empowering. My hope is to help you through this process with empathy and support, premised upon the skills I have learned through life and as a professional counselor. I have received training in Imago Relationship Therapy, domestic abuse, and working with veterans. I was a faculty member at several universities, and a guest speaker at marriage workshops. I have both trained and supervised students in psychology.

Infidelity Therapists

How does therapy for infidelity work?

A skilled infidelity therapist will provide a safe space for clients to communicate their feelings and concerns. The goal is to be completely honest about what led to the cheating and how it has affected the entire family to prevent it from recurring in the future. The therapist will help the clients work on rebuilding mutual trust and respect and developing better communication and conflict-resolution skills. If the goal is to remain a couple, clients will learn the “danger signs” for their specific relationship, and they will make a renewed commitment to be faithful.

How long does therapy for infidelity take?

Recovery from infidelity can take time, and it can vary from person to person. Generally, a therapist will want to see the clients at least once a week for around six months. Then the sessions can be arranged as needed, depending on the clients’ individual needs. While therapy may end or shift to an as-needed basis, it can take up to two years or more for some clients to fully recover from infidelity.

How does therapy help the partner who was cheated on?

When a client discovers their partner’s infidelity, their trust in the relationship and in the life they had together may be shattered. They often experience mental health symptoms, such as anxiety, depression, grief, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). They don’t always want to stay in the relationship; they may feel ambivalent or may even want to leave. Therapy gives these clients a safe and healthy way to communicate all of their complicated emotions and concerns.

How does therapy help the partner who committed infidelity?

Infidelity often occurs when one or both partners’ emotional needs are not being met in the relationship. Therapy can help this client understand why they cheated and figure out how to address those unmet needs without resorting to infidelity in the future. This can lessen (but not entirely eliminate) the risk of repeated infidelity. Clients who cheat may also feel intense guilt about deceiving their partners, a sentiment that they can work through in therapy.
