My ideal client is someone who senses that the old stories they’ve lived by no longer serve them, even if those stories once helped them survive. They carry the lasting impact of caregivers who couldn’t fully show up, and their body still holds those experiences through tension, vigilance, or shutdown. They feel stuck in trauma responses and core beliefs that feel true despite knowing better. They long to feel safe, grounded, and at home in their body, and know they need more than talk therapy—they’re ready for healing that is compassionate and embodied, yet honest enough to challenge the patterns keeping them stuck.

NOW accepting new clients! You ask yourself, "will it ever stop?" The racing thoughts, the paralyzing self-doubt and the overwhelm. You’re easily triggered. It feels like you're on an emotional roller coaster. That intrusive voice is telling you that you’re not enough—you’ll never measure up. Perfectionism and procrastination keep you stuck. You find yourself in an unfulfilling job or relationship yet again. You long for connection, but are afraid of rejection. You seek comfort with alcohol, food, social media, work or shopping, but the feelings keep coming back.

You’ve worn the many masks for a long time—performing, pleasing, surviving. But now something deeper is stirring. You’re ready to live with truth, to meet yourself in the mirror and ask, “Who am I beneath it all?” You may be unraveling trauma, constant drama in relationships, confronting shame about your sexuality, seeking spiritual clarity, or longing for love that doesn’t require self-abandonment. You’re awakening—and with that comes grief, fear, and deep hope. You want to feel whole. You want to trust yourself. You want to finally come home. It's time to let yourself be just as you are. You are the medicine for you.

I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2010. Prior to this I worked at Children's Services, a domestic violence shelter, child advocacy center, etc. I have dealt with abuse/ sex abuse, neglect, hurt, loss, etc. I worked in both the social service side and juvenile delinquent side with kids/ teens ages 0-19 mostly, and their parents, relatives, foster families, etc. I have dealt a lot with kids in the educational system and know the resources to link them to if needed. I believe that one of the most important needs is trusting the counselor. The age group I am mainly seeing in my practice at this time is 12 and up.

I have witnessed many people, weighed down by hurt and anger, who genuinely desire change but feel so stuck they don’t know where to begin.
I use a variety of approaches — like EMDR, Brainspotting, Trauma-Focused, Somatic Experiential, art and body-based therapies — to help people move through painful patterns and past experiences. These methods can ease the effects of trauma, such as anxiety, fear, or struggles in relationships, and open the way to healing and lasting change.

“We are all born same, we are completely cute, innocent, sweet, and we need that reflection of ourselves as little human beings to live, …” – Anneke Lucas. Hello, I’m Bill, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) located in Bowling Green, Kentucky. It seems that life can sometimes take a bit of the cuteness, innocence, and sweetness away. It is important to remember that our need for belonging and attachment continues throughout life and is not outgrown. If anything, the need may grow to seemingly greater levels. When our needs are not met, the response may be one of experiencing emptiness in life and low self-esteem.

I’m Abby, an LMSW with 10+ years in social work and 4 years as a therapist. I work with all ages, especially LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent clients. Outside of therapy, I love fishing, hanging with my pets (and my partner too, I guess), and sharks, but to a completely reasonable degree (it is not reasonable). I really enjoy working with people who’ve felt misunderstood, been told they’re, “too much,” or feel like they’ve had to hide parts of themselves just to get by. Existing with a human brain can get weird and complicated. A phrase I use frequently with my clients is, “brains are gonna brain,” so let’s figure out what yours is up to.

These difficulties include but are not limited to the following: difficulty coping with a traumatic event, poor anger management, school or social issue behavior problems, boundaries issues, and sibling rivalry.
I utilize an eclectic approach to fit and meet the needs of the individual, family, or group. I work to build autonomy and self-awareness while promoting positive change to help foster growth within the individual. This, in turn, can help the individual cope effectively and positively with past struggles while building skills for the future.

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
