I was raised in the diverse melting pot of New York City as a first-generation Chinese American, born to parents who emigrated from Hong Kong. After college, I moved to Nashville, where I had the wonderful privilege of traveling the world as a musician. These experiences afforded me the unique opportunity to hear thousands of people’s stories, from depression, suicide, grief, and addiction to hope found amidst it all. Through these stories, as well as my own, I came to realize the powerful gift of therapy and the difference that occurs when we come to understand our intrinsic worth and capacity to be seen, heard, known, and loved.

Do you feel like you’ve tried everything but still feel stuck in the same cognitive, relational or behavioral patterns that cause shame, depression or anxiety? Do you feel like traditional therapy doesn’t work for you?
Most of my clients have tried for years to create change yet remain in the pain of secret loneliness, critical thoughts of self, compulsive behaviors , or secrets in general. Many appear successful on the outside, while privately struggling internally.
I believe by gaining a deeper more compassionate sense of ourselves and our histories, appropriate whole body intervention and loving support , healing can occur.

Hey there! I’m so glad you’re here. Asking for help is one of the strongest - and scariest - things a person can do. I would love to provide a comfortable and safe space for you to explore the things you want to change. Together we can think about pieces of your life that are sticky, that take up too much space. I’m here to be an unbiased sounding board, a shoulder to lean on, and someone who can call you out when you need it (we all need that sometimes). I work from a holistic, trauma-informed approach grounded in authenticity and connection that is tailored to each individual person’s needs.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists
How long does OCD treatment take?
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.
What happens if OCD is not treated?
Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.
Are there medications for OCD?
Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.
Can OCD come back after treatment?
Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
