Many of today's problems are a result of the complicated, fast-paced world in which we live; a world that threatens
man
's emotional stability. Clients come to counselors looking for hope. Many times they feel desperate, pursuing what seems like their last option. They are looking for someone who is kind and sensitive, but also for someone who knows how to diagnose their problems and help them improve their situation. If this is you, I am your resource. I will never provide my clients a solution that does not give the very best in me.

ALL ARE WELCOME, NONE ARE JUDGED.I am a faith based, solution focused therapist. Faith based because great journeys begin with a single step of faith. Solution focused, because focusing on what has not worked, does not work. My ideal client is one seeking positive growth inter-personally and spiritually. I meet you where you are and strive to empower and encourage you through the growth process, to get where you want to be.

Sometimes, it seems there isn't anyone to call. No friend can articulate a plausible explanation, alternative, or direction for what you are experiencing. The loneliness you feel on the inside, no matter how many people are around you daily, leads you to feel isolated even when you are a part of the crowd. Even when you do try to express, it is difficult for you to open up as the depths of your distress make you consider and reconsider how much you should share. You feel like you cannot come up with the answer and you're tired. All you desire is perspective and progress. All you want is to feel adequate, competent, and accomplished.

Together we will find the right path, and right set of practical tools, to help you overcome obstacles and become your best self. After over a decade-and-a-half working in mental health, I am skilled in the latest, evidence-based therapies available (e.g., Relational Mindfulness and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy). But no single approach works for all people at all times and, remaining flexible, we will create a safe therapeutic environment with the best combination of techniques that works for you. So many different psychotherapies exist today because there is no one approach that works at all times.

There is a time in all our lives when it feels that nobody understands, somebody fails to listen, and we feel we have to figure it out by ourselves and that doesn't work either. Finding yourself in that desperate place is an appropriate time to tell your story to a therapist who desires to listen and help you understand where you've been and come along side you to assist you in knowing where you want to go. Courageously step toward the therapy process and embrace the hope that reminds you that you don't have to stay stuck or remain in the dark.

Greetings! If you are reading this, I am making the assumption that you have an interest in soliciting the services of someone to help you through life's many challenges. Allow me to be that person! EVERYONE can benefit from therapy-whether or not one chooses to pursue it, is simply a matter of personal preference. Relatable, empathetic, sincere, and inspiring are words past clients have used to describe my style of interacting. If counseling is something you feel would benefit you at this juncture in life, allow me NOT to lead you in this journey, but instead walk side by side. ***I am an In-Network provider for Kaiser Permanente

Do you struggle with sex getting more daily attention than your closest relationships? Maybe a previous infidelity or betrayal continues to plague the relationship? Many of my clients struggle to make sense of emotions, but long to feel safe and connected to friends and family. Despite our best protective strategies, emotional experiences will not be ignored. Over a lifespan, adaptive protective strategies of the past become our prisons. Mal-adaptive in the present, old and helpful strategies of the past form the barriers to trusting safe and connected relationships we all desperately desire.

I wish to challenge certain stereotypes around mental health and invite anyone, regardless of their race and/or gender to reach out for psychological services if needed. I work with clients demonstrating a range of mental health concerns, including: anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, mood and personality disorders, life transitions and stress. My preference of clients is not limited to their race, gender, religion, or sexual orientation, but their devotion to their own mental well being.

"The best way to predict the future is to create it." That statement is at the heart of therapy. So often we are defined by what has happened to us and we get stuck living in a space filled with regret, heartache and frustration. You don't have to live in that space. Your current search for a therapist is a wonderfully bold and courageous step toward creating your future. The role of a therapist is to help you unlock your innate ability to heal, forgive, grow and prosper in the life you wish to build.

My areas of skill and experience include helping couples restore love and connection in their relationship and coaching
men
who are seeking to establish more meaningful personal and professional relationships.
My work as a therapist is based on a conviction that our choices and relationship patterns are fueled by our need to experience wholeness and heal the brokenness of our past. This concept lies at the core of attachment theory and is a powerful tool for helping us understand why we struggle with others and with our own internal critic. In my therapeutic work, I leverage aspects of Imago, Solution-focused, and Internal Family theories to help clients progress towards deeper and more meaningful connections with themselves and others.

So many
men
are silently struggling, feeling alone as they go about their day. They get caught up in the daily grind and rhythm(s) of life. It's easy to let issues pile up as you live your life. Responsibilities pile up and days turn into months, then years. Are you feeling lost? Have you lost your internal compass and feeling disconnected from yourself? It may be time to stop, re-orient yourself, and move in a new direction. I would love to help you, as you begin your journey and move towards a more fulfilled life! I look forward to meeting you.

men

Wow! There are a LOT of therapists, right? Unless the criteria were super narrow, this list is likely a little overwhelming—a lot of acronyms, a lot of jargon and friendly smiles; maybe fewer cardigans than expected. It’s a lot to consider. For many of us, scrolling through lists like this can feel like running in quicksand. And if you tend to be hard on yourself, it's all the more difficult. Whether you're navigating major life shifts, struggling but still trying to pin down why, or just at a loss and unsure of where/how to start, stick with it. It's OK to take your time. There are lots of people on here who can help.

Male Therapists
As a man, why might I want to see a male therapist?
There are many reasons a man might wish to work with a male therapist, including a degree of shared identity, which may help client and therapist connect to each other and allow for a more free-flowing discussion of issues that can be deeply personal. Some men may feel more comfortable talking to a male therapist about relationship concerns, the pressures they feel around the roles society and family place on men, career or job challenges, self-esteem, or anger problems. For some men who have not had a male role models in their lives, a good male therapist may be especially helpful.
How can I find out about a therapist’s experience treating men?
Individuals looking for treatment should feel comfortable directly asking a therapist about their history treating men overall and the issues that arise in therapy with men. A good therapist will be happy to discuss such matters as well as their educational background, approach to treatment, and how they think they can aid a prospective client. Prospective clients should also ask what the expectation is for treatment, and what the fee structure is, and whether and which insurance plans are accepted.
Can clients benefit from having a therapist of the same gender?
Therapy is not gender-specific, but some men as well as women feel more comfortable opening up about their experiences and history with a male therapist. An individual may feel that they have to explain less background information and be on the same page more quickly, particularly when discussing gender-specific challenges, in the case of male clients. Some women have prior negative experiences with women that predispose them to prefer working with a male in therapy. That said, a good clinician can transcend most if not all gender concerns. Ultimately, the most important factor in therapy is the connection and trust the client is able to build with the practitioner.
Would a male therapist have specific training in treating men?
Generally, no. There are no certifications for treating men specifically, but there are continuing education classes that therapists may take that focus on treating men as a group. There are many therapists who focus on men and male issues in their treatment and therefore have experience and expertise in this domain.
