Hello, I am Tina Schab, Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 22 years of experience helping individuals struggling with mental health and addiction problems. I have valuable experience with DBT skills training to treat individuals struggling with borderline personality disorder. My approach to therapy is client centered and focused on client self-efficacy. I also tend to focus on client strengths, values, and self-compassion.
For the last 22 years, I have extensive experience working with individuals coping and overcoming addiction and chronic mental health problems including depression, anxiety, PTSD, Bipolar disorder, grief, Borderline Personality, and psychotic disorders.
First session, review of informed consent, risks, benefits to therapy, and confidentiality guidelines. In addition, first session would focus on establishing rapport, active listening, validation of emotions. Also gathering information regarding why client is seeking therapy and allowing clients to decide whether I am a good fit to help them.
