My Name is Tim Malone. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in San Luis Obispo, California, and working with clients statewide via Telehealth. I work with teens, First Responders, the LGBTQIA2S+ population, and Teens and specialize in PTSD, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Mindfulness, Somatic, and an eclectic mix of other therapies to help my clients work through limiting beliefs and negative experiences so that they can feel better and live fuller lives.
My approach to therapy can be different with each client, but I generally meet each client with a warm curiosity and always look for areas where we can bring some humor into session. I believe that we are all human and have human experiences, and I find this approach helps build our working relationship.
Goal setting is collaborative. What does my client want out of therapy? This is generally a set of overall goals, but sometimes, those goals may change per session depending on where the client is at any given time. Goals can change over time as well as we get to know one another and hone in on certain aspects of therapy and my client's lives.
