Welcome to this introduction to my practice. People frequently enter psychotherapy due to problems with depression, anxiety, interpersonal difficulties, self-defeating patterns, trauma and abuse, as well as physical problems unexplained by medical examination. I specialize in Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (IS-TDP). IS-TDP is based on findings from neuroscience, physiology, attachment studies, mindfulness and psychodynamic theory. This is an effective and well researched technique that is useful in addressing such problems rapidly and actively.
In using this method, we will act as a team to pay a focused and caring attention to you during each moment of your session. The focus is to help you overcome internal resistance to experiencing your feelings about present or past conflicts.
Frequently, such feelings have been avoided as they are too painful to face. Unfortunately, not addressing these emotional conflicts leads to difficulties functioning. In facing emotionally difficult aspects of your life you can have: symptom relief, clear understanding of yourself, & a healthy life lived to your full potential.
